Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Emily Blunt shared the red carpet at the 16th Governors Awards hosted by AMPAS, marking a reunion for the two stars. Johnson is in contention for Best Actor honors this awards season, while Blunt is competing for Best Supporting Actress, according to reports.

Blunt caught attention in a bright, eye-catching gown featuring avant-garde details at the neckline that resembled a crumpled bow.

The dress also had sheer V-shaped panels that extended from her hips to her inner thighs. She wore her brunette hair in a sleek bun and kept her makeup natural, letting her features stand out.

Johnson, meanwhile, looked his usual polished self, drawing eyes as he posed alongside Blunt. The two have worked together recently on the sports drama The Smashing Machine, in which Johnson portrayed wrestler Mark Kerr. While the film did not perform well at the box office, critics praised both leads for their performances.

Looking ahead, Blunt has a busy schedule. She will star in Steven Spielberg’s untitled science fiction project with Josh O’Connor and is set to reprise her role as Emily Charlton in The Devil Wears Prada 2, slated for a May 2026 release.

Johnson will return as Maui in Disney’s live-action Moana adaptation in 2026 and has been cast in a new crime drama directed by Martin Scorsese, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Emily Blunt. The film will explore the rise of an aspiring mob boss in Hawaii. Johnson will also team up with the Safdie brothers for Lizard Music, based on Daniel Pinkwater’s teen novel.

Seeing Johnson and Blunt together on the red carpet reminded fans of their strong on-screen chemistry and versatility as performers. Their Governors Awards appearance highlighted not only their current projects but also the exciting work ahead.
