‘Euphoria’ Season 3 Sets Return Date — Watch the Thrilling New Trailer Here
HBO’s hit show Euphoria is finally returning for its highly anticipated third season, and fans now have a release date to mark on their calendars. The series, which stars Zendaya, will skip forward five years from where season two ended and is set to premiere on April 12, according to the official trailer released this week. The two-minute preview gives a first glimpse of what the characters are up to as young adults.
Show creator Sam Levinson shared earlier that the time jump lets the series explore life after high school. “The one thing we all agreed on is we can’t go back to high school—although many, many shows have had 30-year-old high school students, we’re not. Five years felt like a natural place [to jump] because if they had gone to college they’d be out of college at that time,” Levinson said.
The trailer hints at major changes for the characters. Rue, played by Zendaya, is in Mexico and dealing with a debt to a drug dealer named Laurie. Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) are engaged and moving to the suburbs, eventually getting married. Jules (Hunter Schafer) is pursuing art school, Maddie (Alexa Demi) works at a Hollywood talent agency, and Lexi (Maude Apatow) is assisting a showrunner played by newcomer Sharon Stone.
The new season will also see several additions to the cast, including Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth, Natasha Lyonne, Rosalía, Marshawn Lynch, Sam Trammell, and Asante Blackk. Returning cast members include Eric Dane, Chloe Cherry, Dominic Fike, Nika King, and Colman Domingo. However, some familiar faces such as Storm Reid, Austin Abrams, and Javon Walton will not appear this season. Fans will also remember that Angus Cloud, who played Fezco, passed away in July 2023.
Euphoria comes back more than four years after season two aired. The delay was due to scheduling challenges for the cast, Levinson’s work on another HBO series, The Idol, and reports of tensions between Levinson and Zendaya, as detailed by The Hollywood Reporter.
The long wait has made anticipation for the new season intense. The trailer promises high-stakes drama, new storylines, and the bold style the show is known for.
This five-year jump is a smart move for Euphoria. It allows the characters to grow and face adult challenges while keeping the show fresh and unpredictable. I’m excited to see how the storylines evolve. What do you think about the time jump and the new cast additions? Share your thoughts in the comments.
