Set in the fictional suburb of Brookfield Heights, Michigan, the seventh season explores the aftermath of the 2016 United States presidential election. Manipulative political fanatic Kai Anderson forms a dangerous cult that orchestrates terror across the local community to seize municipal power. Ally Mayfair-Richards, a restaurateur suffering from severe phobias, becomes the primary target of the cult’s psychological torment. Unlike previous seasons, this installment abandons supernatural elements to focus entirely on realistic psychological and socio-political horror.

‘American Horror Story: Apocalypse’ (2018)

The eighth installment functions as a direct crossover sequel between ‘American Horror Story: Murder House’ and ‘American Horror Story: Coven’. The storyline begins with a nuclear holocaust that devastates Earth, forcing a select group of survivors into a subterranean shelter called Outpost 3. Michael Langdon, the Antichrist born during the events of the first season, emerges as the architect behind the apocalyptic destruction. ‘American Horror Story: 1984’ (2019)

The ninth season pays homage to 1980s slasher cinema by placing its narrative at Camp Redwood, a summer camp with a bloody history. A group of young camp counselors finds themselves pursued by escaped serial killer Mr. Jingles and the notorious real-life murderer Richard Ramirez. The plot reveals that the camp grounds trap the spirits of everyone who dies on the property, creating an unending cycle of ghostly violence. ‘American Horror Story: Double Feature’ (2021)

The ‘Red Tide’ segment takes place in Provincetown, Massachusetts, and focuses on a struggling writer who takes a mysterious black pill that unlocks talent at the cost of bloodlust. The ‘Death Valley’ segment shifts to an alternate history involving President Dwight D. Eisenhower and a government conspiracy with extraterrestrials. ‘American Horror Story: NYC’ (2022)

As her career surges during awards season, Anna faces mounting paranoia involving a secretive occult coven surrounding her inner circle. ‘American Horror Story: 13’ (2026)

The thirteenth installment was officially ordered by FX as part of a multi-season renewal extending the anthology franchise. Scheduled for release in late 2026, the production is slated to deliver an episode order of thirteen individual installments. As with preceding entries overseen by creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, central premise details and returning cast members remain under development leading up to its premiere.
