This animated comedy follows Bodi, a Tibetan Mastiff who leaves Snow Mountain to pursue his rock-music dream in the city and crosses paths with reclusive rock star Angus Scattergood while fending off a wolf gang led by Linnux. Voice cast includes Luke Wilson (Bodi), Eddie Izzard (Angus Scattergood), J. K. Simmons (Khampa), and Sam Elliott; it’s directed and co-written by Ash Brannon, adapted from Zheng Jun’s Chinese graphic novel ‘Tibetan Rock Dog’.

The screenplay is by Ash Brannon and Kurt Voelker, with music by Rolfe Kent and animation work from Reel FX; Lionsgate released it in the U.S. after a China release by Huayi Brothers. Production was U.S.–China financed, and the film later spawned two direct-to-video sequels.

Michael Bay directs this biographical action-thriller about the six-man Global Response Staff team defending U.S. facilities during the September 11, 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya. The film’s technical craft credits include cinematography by Dion Beebe and music by Lorne Balfe; Paramount handled distribution. Notably, an Oscar sound-mixing nomination for one mixer was rescinded for campaigning rule violations ahead of the 2017 ceremony.

Set in 1981 New York City, the crime drama follows heating-oil entrepreneur Abel Morales and his wife Anna as they try to expand their business amid hijackings and probes by the district attorney. J. C. Chandor writes and directs; Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain lead, with David Oyelowo, Alessandro Nivola and Albert Brooks supporting.

Bradford Young is the cinematographer and Alex Ebert composed the score; the film was released by A24 and won National Board of Review’s Best Film, with Isaac and Chastain also recognized by the group.

Leaving Monday, September 29. The sequel to ‘District B13’ reunites undercover cop Damien and traceur Leïto as they race to expose a conspiracy threatening to demolish the Parisian banlieue. Patrick Alessandrin directs; Luc Besson writes and produces; Cyril Raffaelli and David Belle reprise their roles.

Produced by EuropaCorp with action built around parkour choreography, the film features Élodie Yung and Philippe Torreton; it follows the first film by Pierre Morel, which popularized Besson-produced parkour set-pieces without wirework.

Andrea Riseborough and James D’Arcy portray Simpson and Edward; Abbie Cornish plays Wally, with Oscar Isaac as Evgeni.

The film features a score by Abel Korzeniowski and cinematography by Hagen Bogdanski; StudioCanal and The Weinstein Company distributed in the U.K. and U.S., respectively, and the movie earned an Oscar nomination for Costume Design.

John Jarratt stars as Taylor, with Nathan Phillips, Cassandra Magrath and Kestie Morassi as the travelers; McLean wrote and directed, drawing inspiration from real cases for the screenplay.

Shot in Australia with music by Frank Tétaz, the film premiered at Sundance before wider releases and later expanded into a franchise with a sequel and a television spinoff centered on the antagonist.
