TikToker Marcelo Wang explained the trend in a viral video. “Kris Jenner is one of the most successful businesswomen in the U.S., and in China, hard work is highly valued,” he said. “Copying Kris Jenner is a funny way for Gen Z to try to attract success.”

Wang’s video gained a lot of attention quickly, with many viewers commenting from profiles that featured Jenner’s image. One user wrote, “Better work, or else,” while another said, “I’ll try it and let you know if it works.”

In the same video, Wang shared a post from a TikTok user who joked that changing her profile picture already helped her. “Last night I was literally about to lose it, and then I changed my profile picture to Kris Jenner and suddenly I feel like I’m killing it,” she wrote. She added, “My confidence shot through the roof. I feel like I can do anything now.”

Another user claimed that thanks to her Kris Jenner profile photo, she received two job offers.
