Everything We Know So Far About ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’
Marvel fans are buzzing about the next Spider-Man movie. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the fourth film with Tom Holland as Peter Parker. It’s set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026. This movie is part of the MCU’s Phase Six. Here’s what we know about it so far.
What’s the Movie About?
Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows Spider-Man: No Way Home. In the last film, a spell erased Peter Parker from everyone’s memory. Now, he’s alone as Spider-Man. The movie comes from Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios. Sony Pictures will release it. The title nods to a 2008 comic storyline where Spider-Man got a fresh start. Tom Holland has hinted this film will feel like a new beginning for his character too.
Who’s in the Cast?
Tom Holland is back as Peter Parker, swinging through New York as Spider-Man. Zendaya returns as MJ, Peter’s ex-girlfriend from school. Jacob Batalon will play Ned Leeds again, Peter’s old best friend. Both MJ and Ned forgot Peter after No Way Home.
New faces are joining too. Sadie Sink from Stranger Things has a big role. Some think she might be Jean Grey, but that’s just a rumor. Liza Colón-Zayas from The Bear is in the film, though we don’t know who she’ll play. Jon Bernthal returns as the Punisher, a tough crime-fighter. Kevin Feige says his role will feel different this time, less brutal than before. Mark Ruffalo will appear as the Hulk, continuing the trend of big MCU characters in Spider-Man movies.
What’s the Story?
The plot is still under wraps, but we have some details. Spider-Man will tackle small-scale crime in New York. This is different from past films with huge threats. Kevin Feige says Peter will focus on saving the city alone. The “Brand New Day” title hints at a reset, like in the comics where Peter’s life changed after a big event. A set photo showed a truck with a red demon symbol. This could mean Mister Negative, a comic villain, might appear. Nothing is confirmed yet.
Who’s Making It?
Destin Daniel Cretton is directing. He made Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers wrote the script. They worked on the earlier Spider-Man movies. Filming started in August 2025 in London and Glasgow. The release date is locked for July 31, 2026.
Where Does It Fit in the MCU?
This movie is in Phase Six of the MCU. It comes after The Fantastic Four: First Steps in July 2026. Avengers: Doomsday follows in December 2026. We don’t know if Spider-Man will be in Avengers: Doomsday. For now, Brand New Day seems to stand alone, focusing on Peter’s city adventures.
Extra Bits We Know
The title was revealed at CinemaCon in April 2025. Tom Holland and Destin Daniel Cretton shared the news. A teaser dropped on August 1, 2025. It showed Spider-Man’s new suit—red and blue with black webbing, close to the comic look. Fans wonder if Miles Morales, another Spider-Man, will show up. Kevin Feige says Sony isn’t ready for a live-action Miles yet, so probably not.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day looks like a big deal for fans. It brings a solo Spider-Man story with new and returning faces. The movie lands in theaters on July 31, 2026. What do you think about it? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!
