‘Family Guy’ Season 24 Trailer Drops at Comic-Con With Big Parodies and Streaming Surprises
Family Guy is coming back for another season, and fans just got their first real look at what’s in store. During San Diego Comic-Con 2025, the show revealed the official trailer for Season 24, teasing some big jokes, familiar faces, and even a full parody of The Lord of the Rings.
Season 24 doesn’t have an exact release date yet, but according to the Comic-Con panel, it’s expected to return to Fox sometime next year. Like Season 23, it’s likely going to be part of Fox’s midseason schedule instead of airing in the fall. The new trailer, shown during the panel, gave fans a sneak peek at some of the episodes, and it looks like there’s a lot of wild stuff coming.
One of the biggest things teased is the Lord of the Rings spoof. It might be just one part of an anthology episode, or it could take up a full episode like last season’s Top Gun: Maverick parody. Either way, it looks like fans are in for a fun ride.
Even though the main season is still a ways off, Family Guy isn’t slowing down. According to the Comic-Con announcements, the show is also coming back to Hulu later this year with two brand-new specials. A Halloween special will premiere in October, followed by a Christmas special later in the year. Both will stream exclusively on Hulu, just like the other two specials already available there.
This release pattern, main season on Fox followed by two Hulu specials—might be how Family Guy plans to roll things out from now on. And it seems to be working, as the show’s future is secure. Fox previously announced a four-season renewal for Family Guy, along with other animated hits like The Simpsons and Bob’s Burgers.
While the show has moved away from its traditional fall premiere, it’s still one of Fox’s key animated shows. And with Season 23, the writers had a bit more fun with the stories. Some episodes brought back familiar characters, while others gave fans a fresh look at the Griffin family. The comedy always comes first, but long-time fans will notice some cool surprises mixed in.
Family Guy continues to change things up without losing its core style. With Season 24 on the way, plus Halloween and Christmas specials hitting Hulu soon, fans have a lot to look forward to. In the meantime, all 23 seasons are available to stream on Hulu for anyone who wants to catch up.
