Fan-Favorite Prime Video Action Show Officially Returning for Season 5
Prime Video is moving forward with another season of Reacher even before Season 4 arrives. According to announcements made during the Amazon MGM Studios upfront presentation, the hit action series has officially been renewed for Season 5.
The show, led by Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher, continues to be one of Prime Video’s biggest successes. Amazon says Season 3 reached 54.6 million viewers worldwide within its first 19 days on the platform. Under the streamer’s reported numbers, it became the service’s most-watched returning season since Fallout debuted.
Season 4 will adapt Gone Tomorrow, the 13th novel from author Lee Child’s long-running Jack Reacher book series. The new story begins after Reacher encounters a troubled stranger on a subway ride, which quickly pulls him into a dangerous conspiracy involving powerful enemies.
Several new cast members are joining the upcoming season, including Chris Marquette, Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan, and Kathleen Robertson.
Peter Friedlander, head of global television at Amazon MGM Studios, praised the series while announcing the renewal. He said, “From Lee Child’s globally beloved novels to its standout on-screen adaptation, ‘Reacher’ has evolved into a true powerhouse franchise.” He also added that the show’s mix of action and character-driven storytelling continues to connect with audiences around the world.

The series is developed by Nick Santora, who serves as writer, showrunner, and executive producer. Alan Ritchson and Lee Child are also executive producers alongside several other producers involved with the project.
Since premiering on Prime Video, Reacher has built a strong fanbase thanks to its straightforward action style, intense fight scenes, and closer adaptation of the original novels compared to earlier screen versions of the character. The series has also received positive reactions from critics for Ritchson’s performance and the show’s ability to balance mystery, action, and dark humor without overcomplicating the story.
