‘Fauda’ Season 5 Finally Gets a Netflix Release Date, See the First-Look Images!
Fans of ‘Fauda’ finally have a date for the next chapter of the Israeli action drama. According to Deadline, Season 5 will arrive worldwide on Netflix on September 8, bringing Lior Raz back as Doron Kavillio for another dangerous mission.
The new season takes place two years after the Hamas-led attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. That event plays a major role in the story, with Doron and his team still dealing with the emotional impact of what happened while facing another serious threat.
Season 5 follows the fighters as they race to prevent a devastating attack on Israel. But this time, the danger is not the only thing they have to deal with. The story also looks at what happens when people spend years caught in violence and revenge.
Avi Issacharoff, who created the series with Raz, said the team completely changed its plans for the new season after the October 7 attack. Their original scripts were scrapped, and the writers rebuilt the story around the events that had changed the region.
“This is a TV show, not reality. But we thought that there is still a story here to be told,” Issacharoff told Deadline.
He explained that the new season is also meant to ask difficult questions about the endless cycle of violence.
“We wanted to ask very tough questions to people all over the world, not only in Israel. Is the revenge worth it? Is continuing this very endless cycle of bloodshed worth it? Where is it taking you?” he said.
Those questions appear to be at the center of Doron’s next mission. The character has already faced years of personal and professional battles, but Season 5 looks set to push him into another difficult period as he tries to protect his country while dealing with the cost of everything that came before.
Raz returns in the lead role, while Yaakov Zada Daniel and Doron Ben-David are also back. New additions include French actress Melanie Laurent and Hakim Djaziri.
The season is directed by Omri Givon, who also worked on the scripts with Omri Shenhar, Issacharoff, Raz and several other writers. The 11-episode season was filmed in Israel and Hungary.
‘Fauda’ originally premiered on Israeli network Yes and has since become one of Netflix’s most recognizable international dramas. The streaming service has acquired all five seasons, allowing viewers around the world to follow Doron and his team.

With a new threat, a new cast of characters and a story shaped by real-world events, Season 5 could be the most emotionally difficult chapter of ‘Fauda’ yet. The new episodes arrive on Netflix on September 8.
