With Daredevil: Born Again officially part of the MCU, the chances of a full reunion of the former Defenders cast from Netflix’s Marvel shows seem higher than ever. Several actors from the original lineup have already expressed excitement about the possibility of returning, including Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), and Finn Jones (Iron Fist).

As the MCU continues to integrate street-level heroes, fans are eager to see whether Marvel Studios will bring back the entire Defenders crew for a long-awaited reunion. While nothing is confirmed yet, the growing enthusiasm from the actors and the success of past revivals—such as Charlie Cox’s Daredevil—make it a real possibility.

Finn Jones recently addressed his potential return, and once again, he confirmed that he would love to be part of the MCU. Jones acknowledges that he is aware of the criticism surrounding both the Iron Fist character and his performance in the role.

He responed by asking for another opportunity to prove himself, saying he is ready and determined to show people that he can do better. He wants a second chance to change fans’ opinions and deliver a stronger performance.

I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it,” Jones said. “My response to that is ‘give me a fucking chance, man. I’m here and I’m ready, and I wanna prove people wrong.

‘Iron Fist’ ran for two seasons on Netflix back when Disney wasn’t interested in expanding MCU lore with TV shows. ‘Iron Fist’ debuted its first season with 13 episodes on March 17, 2017, despite negative critic reviews it built quite a solid fanbase, with plenty of fans attaching to Jones as the lead.

Netflix canceled the series on October 12, 2018, despite Marvel’s desire to continue it on the platform. Marvel assured that the characters would persist in the MCU. There were discussions of potentially reviving the series on Disney+, but contractual obligations prevented the characters from appearing in non-Netflix projects for at least two years.

Many fans felt his fight scenes looked slow and unconvincing compared to other Marvel shows. Some thought that Jones didn’t have enough training before filming.

The Iron Fist show had poor writing, with a boring story and weak character development. Many felt it didn’t live up to the other Defenders shows.

Also, some people wanted an Asian actor to play Iron Fist, since the character’s story is based on martial arts and Asian culture. Finn Jones, a white actor, was seen as a bad choice by some fans.
