The first look at Daredevil: Born Again season 2 gives fans a glimpse of new dangers and dark moments in New York City. Charlie Cox, who returns as Matt Murdock, explained that while season 1 focused on Wilson Fisk’s rise to power, season 2 explores what it takes to keep control of the city.

Only a short time has passed since the season 1 finale, but New York remains under Fisk’s strict rule. Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, teased that viewers should expect “a lot of heavy themes” and “a lot of dark moments and tragic events.” He added, “Daredevil is a revolutionary in this season. He’s a rebel and it’s fun to see him go up against the power of the city.”

After taking over the city and outlawing vigilantism, Fisk, played by Vincent D’Onofrio, painted Daredevil as America’s Most Wanted. Now, Matt is gathering his own team to fight back, and Krysten Ritter joins as a clever and tough sleuth, though her exact role remains a secret. Winderbaum compared Ritter’s presence to Jon Bernthal’s Punisher in the first season.

Cox described the new season as intense and claustrophobic. “It feels like one misstep and loved ones disappear. You are taken, there’s no way out,” he said. The showrunner, Dario Scardapane, reportedly drew inspiration from the French Revolution while filming, showing that rebellion takes time and careful planning.

Deborah Ann Woll returns as Karen Page, who plays a bigger role this season. Cox praised her performance, saying, “Her role is the best it’s ever been. She is a badass in season 2. We get to see a side of Karen Page which I think Charlie and also Matt Murdock have always known is beneath that surface.” Elden Henson also returns as Foggy Nelson, whose absence continues to affect Daredevil, and Punisher’s storyline will continue from season 1.

Other returning cast members include Margarita Levieva, Wilson Bethel, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki M. James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Michael Gandolfini, Ayelet Zurer, and Tony Dalton. Filming took place in New York from February to July 2025, with directors Solvan Naim, Iain B. MacDonald, and Angela Barnes handling different episodes.

Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again will premiere on Disney+ on March 4, 2026. It will include eight episodes and be part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel confirmed a third season in September.
