Marvel and DC fans are getting a huge treat this September. After more than two decades, the two comic book giants are teaming up again for a crossover event, and it’s packed with fan-favorite characters.

The main spotlight falls on an unlikely but exciting duo — Deadpool and Batman — who will headline a new comic titled Marvel/DC: Deadpool/Batman #1.

This one-shot issue isn’t just about Deadpool and the Dark Knight. It’s also bringing in other major Marvel and DC characters for short stories. Readers will see Daredevil team up with Green Arrow, Captain America fighting alongside Wonder Woman, and even Jeff the Land Shark meeting Krypto the Superdog.

Zeb Wells is writing the main story featuring Batman and Deadpool, with artwork by Greg Capullo. Kevin Smith is writing the Daredevil and Green Arrow story with art by Adam Kubert. Chip Zdarsky and Terry Dodson are behind the Captain America and Wonder Woman story, and Kelly Thompson and Gurihiru are handling Jeff and Krypto.

Each story in the comic will have its own special variant cover. Fans can already see the Daredevil/Green Arrow cover by Marco Checchetto and the Jeff/Krypto cover by Gurihiru. There’s also a huge wraparound cover by Capullo showing off the crossover’s full scope.

Editor Mark Basso shared how much fun the creative teams are having with this rare event. “We’re going to all corners of the Marvel and DC Universes, and the creators are having an absolute blast finding the unexpected and unexplored connections between these characters,” he said. “We can’t wait for the fans to experience the same jaw-dropping moments we are! And we’ve got some more secret stories in the works, so keep your eyes peeled.”

Zdarsky talked about writing Cap and Wonder Woman: “Captain America and Wonder Woman are the best their worlds have to offer, both warriors for peace. Getting to explore a dynamic and history between them has been genuinely exciting.”

Thompson was thrilled about getting Jeff the Land Shark into the mix: “Two ICONS meeting for the first time! It’s such an honor for Jeff to get to be Marvel’s ambassador in this crossover story with Krypto. Anyone who loves comics knows how rare it is for DC and Marvel to crossover, so Jeff getting to be part of this historic moment with Krypto, and Gurihiru and I getting to bring that tale to readers… well, sometimes this job is very cool.”

Marvel/DC: Deadpool/Batman #1 will hit comic shops on September 17, 2025.

This crossover looks like a love letter to fans of both universes. Whether you’re here for the wild humor of Deadpool, the mystery of Batman, or curious to see how Daredevil and Green Arrow handle a mission together, this comic is shaping up to be something special.
