First Look at Hogwarts: New ‘Harry Potter’ Set Photos Show Draco, Neville, and Classic Robes
New set photos from HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series give fans their first real look at Hogwarts in action.
The images, shared by Mail Online, show scenes from The Philosopher’s Stone, including Harry chasing Draco Malfoy during a flying lesson. This moment eventually leads to Harry earning a spot on Gryffindor’s Quidditch team as the Seeker, after he retrieves Neville Longbottom’s Remembrall from Malfoy.
The photos also introduce several key characters. Dominic McLaughlin appears as Harry Potter in purple Hogwarts robes, while Lox Pratt is seen as Draco Malfoy. Rory Willmort plays Neville Longbottom, Alastair Stout appears as Ron Weasley, and Louise Brealey takes on the role of Madam Hooch.
Filming took place at the historic Ashridge Estate in Hertfordshire, England.

The HBO series is a new adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s books and is being produced by HBO Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television, Brontë Film & TV, and Heyday Films. Dominic McLaughlin stars as Harry, Alastair Stout as Ron, and Arabella Stanton plays Hermione Granger.
Other notable cast members include John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.
Development on the series began in January 2021, with the plan of creating a faithful adaptation that could span a decade. Showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod led the project.
Casting for the main roles started in November 2024, and by May of this year, the actors for Harry, Ron, and Hermione were officially confirmed. The team considered around 32,000 actors for the parts. Principal photography began in July at Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire.
The series was originally set for HBO Max but later shifted to HBO. It is scheduled to premiere in the United States in early 2027, with the first season consisting of eight episodes.
