First Look at Scorpion in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Surfaces Online
New low-resolution stills from Spider-Man: Brand New Day have started circulating online, giving fans a closer look at several key characters and scenes from the upcoming film.
One of the main images shows Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in a tense moment while meeting William Metzger, a character from the Department of Damage Control. Metzger is played by Tramell Tillman, known for his role in Severance. The scene suggests Spider-Man will once again be dealing with government oversight and pressure while trying to manage his own life.
Another still shows Spider-Man in a dangerous situation with a shuriken from The Hand lodged in his shoulder. This points to the return of The Hand, the secretive ninja organization from Marvel Comics known for their deadly fighters and mystical influence. Their presence suggests the film may explore more street-level and martial arts-style threats alongside the larger superhero action.
One of the most talked-about images features Michael Mando’s return as Scorpion. In the still, Scorpion is seen attacking a member of the Department of Damage Control while wearing a suit that appears different from earlier promotional artwork. Scorpion, also known as Mac Gargan, is a classic Spider-Man villain from Marvel Comics. In the comics, he is a private investigator who becomes involved in an experiment that gives him a powerful armored suit and a mechanical tail. The tail is his main weapon and is often used for stabbing, grabbing, and long-range attacks.
In the new image, Scorpion’s tail design looks different from earlier versions, which has led to speculation that the character may have multiple suit upgrades in the film or that the design was changed during production. The scene shows him acting aggressively during a confrontation with DODC agents, which fits his comic book history as a dangerous and unstable villain who often clashes with Spider-Man.
The stills also show Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher. His presence confirms a more grounded and violent edge to the story, as The Punisher is known for using lethal force against criminals. Another image features Peter Parker meeting Bruce Banner, played by Mark Ruffalo, suggesting possible connections to the wider Marvel Universe and scientific elements in the plot.
While fans are expecting a new trailer soon, Sony Pictures has not confirmed anything official yet. Some believe a new preview could be released in the coming days, especially with the recent increase in promotional material. For now, Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to build excitement as more details slowly appear online.
