Netflix has released the first trailer for Bridgerton Season 4, giving fans their first look at Benedict Bridgerton’s new romance.

The upcoming season, which premieres on January 29, follows Benedict (Luke Thompson) as he meets the mysterious Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha) during a glittering masquerade ball hosted by Lady Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell). This marks the first time the series will fully focus on Benedict’s love story, inspired by Julia Quinn’s third Bridgerton novel, An Offer from a Gentleman.

In previous seasons, Benedict was known for his carefree lifestyle, pursuing art and fleeting relationships, while his siblings navigated their own romances. Thompson said of his character’s new arc, “To get to spend a full eight episodes digging into him and making a whole symphony about him, it’s great.”

The Season 4 trailer shows Benedict instantly captivated by Sophie, setting off a search to uncover her true identity. Showrunner Jess Brownell described the sequence as “a moment where you are meant to feel like you’re in a fantasy. It really launches that journey for us.”

The trailer also teases other storylines in the ton. Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) and her husband John (Victor Alli) return from their honeymoon, while Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) continue to explore their deepening relationship. Additionally, new faces including Katie Leung, Michelle Mao, and Isabella Wei join the series alongside Sophie Baek.

As Ha puts it, “If you are in love with the person at the core of who they are, then that should be all that matters, right?”

The first episode of Season 4 will be available on Tudum starting January 14, with the full season streaming on Netflix from January 29. Previous seasons are available to catch up on Netflix in advance of the new release.
