First Look: Ezra Bridger Returns in ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 With a New Look
Fans of Ahsoka finally got their first look at Ezra Bridger in Season 2, and this time, he’s clean-shaven. The character, played by Eman Esfandi, is back with a new look and a big role in the continuing Star Wars story.

Season 2 of Ahsoka picks up where things left off, after Ezra and Grand Admiral Thrawn returned to the main Star Wars galaxy. Meanwhile, Ahsoka Tano and her apprentice Sabine Wren are stuck in another galaxy along with Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati.
The season continues the storyline that began in Rebels, which ended with Ezra and Thrawn disappearing together. The first season of Ahsoka basically worked like a fifth season of Rebels, and Season 2 will keep building on that story.
Ezra was once a street thief on Lothal before being trained as a Jedi by Kanan Jarrus. He sacrificed himself to take Thrawn away at the end of Rebels, and fans have been wondering what happened ever since. Now he’s back, looking a bit different but ready for action. His return is a big deal for long-time Star Wars viewers, especially those who followed Rebels closely.
This new season takes place during the same time as The Mandalorian, after the events of Return of the Jedi. While Ahsoka and Sabine try to find a way home, Thrawn is busy trying to bring the remnants of the Empire back to power. The stakes are high, and with new and returning characters involved, the story looks ready to go even deeper into Star Wars lore.
The season will be made up of eight episodes and will stream on Disney+. Filming started in April 2025 in the UK, with Dave Filoni returning as showrunner. He’s also producing the season with Lucasfilm and Golem Creations. According to earlier reports from outlets like The Hollywood Reporter, Filoni was thinking about focusing on Ahsoka Season 2 instead of moving forward with a planned crossover film tied to The Mandalorian.
Rosario Dawson returns as Ahsoka, with Natasha Liu Bordizzo back as Sabine. Hayden Christensen also appears again as Anakin Skywalker. Rory McCann has taken over the role of Baylan Skoll following the passing of Ray Stevenson in 2023.
Other familiar faces confirmed for this season include Hera Syndulla, Shin Hati, Huyang, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Chopper, Enoch, Admiral Ackbar, and Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios.
In Season 1, Baylan’s story ended on a mysterious note as he discovered ancient statues of the Mortis gods, powerful Force beings introduced in The Clone Wars. It’s still unknown how that part of the story will be handled going forward, especially after Stevenson’s death.
Season 2 is shaping up to be another big chapter in the Star Wars saga. With Ezra Bridger officially back, now rocking a beardless look, fans are more excited than ever to see where the story goes next.
