Netflix is bringing Sesame Street to a new generation of viewers.

On Monday, the streaming service released the first trailer for its take on the long-running preschool series. This marks the show’s 56th season overall, and it will premiere in just one week.

The new season will premiere in exactly one week. You can check out the trailer on YouTube.

The new version of Sesame Street will focus on playful stories and added comedy. Netflix plans to release episodes in batches of four across three separate premieres. NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace will make a guest appearance in the first set of episodes, giving fans a familiar face alongside the classic Muppets.

“Season 56 reimagines Sesame Street, inviting children into the action and bringing them hand-in-hand through high-stakes stories, powerful learning moments and laugh-out-loud surprises,” said Sal Perez, executive producer of Sesame Street. “As always, Sesame Street’s curriculum is designed to meet children’s most pressing needs — so our focus this season is on kindness and compassion, something we can all use more of today.”

Episodes will remain 30 minutes long, continuing the format used since 2016. The new head writer, Halcyon Person, previously worked on Netflix’s animated shows Karma’s World and Dee & Friends in Oz. Netflix’s Sesame Street will also be available in over 30 languages, making it accessible to children worldwide.

Sesame Street first premiered on November 10, 1969, and now, 56 years later, it is entering a fresh chapter on a major streaming platform.
