First Look: New ‘Harry Potter’ Remake Shows Never-Before-Seen Voldemort Scene
HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series is giving fans a first look at scenes that were never fully shown in the original films.
The series is currently filming in Lustleigh, an English village that has been revealed as Godric’s Hollow.
New photos shared by Wizarding World Direct on X, via William Dax/SNSW, show people dressed in Halloween costumes, strongly suggesting these scenes depict the night Lord Voldemort attacked the Potter family.
This confirms that the series will include full flashbacks of Voldemort’s attack, including him going to the Potters’ home, killing James and Lily, and the moment his curse rebounds, leaving baby Harry to be collected by Hagrid.

The HBO series is a faithful adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s iconic books. Dominic McLaughlin has been cast as Harry Potter, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger.
Supporting roles include John Lithgow, Janet McTeer, Paapa Essiedu, and Nick Frost. Francesca Gardiner serves as showrunner, with Mark Mylod directing.
The series has been in development since January 2021 and is planned as a decade-long project to cover the books in detail. Casting began in November 2024, and after reviewing 32,000 actors, the main trio was confirmed by May of this year. Principal photography started in July at Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire, England.
Originally slated for HBO Max, the show will now premiere on HBO in early 2027. The first season will include eight episodes, covering the early years of Harry Potter’s story with a focus on previously unseen events.
It’s exciting to see the Harry Potter world expanding with new stories and scenes fans have only imagined. The addition of these flashbacks could give a fresh perspective on the events leading to Harry’s journey. What do you think about these new details? Share your thoughts in the comments.
