[First Look] Step Inside ‘Elphaba’s Retreat’: Cynthia Erivo Offers Exclusive Free Airbnb Experience for Fans
Universal Pictures is giving fans a magical way to step into the world of Oz ahead of the release of Wicked: For Good on November 21.
Airbnb is hosting a special experience called Elphaba’s Retreat, inspired by the character Elphaba, played by Cynthia Erivo. The retreat is designed to let fans immerse themselves in the forest hideaway where Elphaba lives, blending the magic of the forest with the story’s powerful themes.
Cynthia Erivo, who has won a Grammy, Emmy, and Tony and is a three-time Academy Award nominee, is personally inviting guests to the experience. She said, “Elphaba taught me that our differences are what makes us powerful. Her story transformed me, and I can’t wait to share that journey with you.”
The retreat reflects Erivo’s connection to the character and gives fans the chance to see elements of Elphaba’s world, including her hat, broom, and sacred Grimmerie.

The three-hour exclusive Airbnb experience with Cynthia Erivo is free and 20 fans will be selected to attend.

The event includes two ways for fans to participate. The first is a three-hour immersive experience on December 3 in Thousand Oaks, California. Fans can request to join starting November 11 at 7am PT until November 13 at 7am PT. Up to 20 fans will be selected, and the experience is free, though guests are responsible for their own travel and accommodations.

For an even deeper experience, the retreat will also open for an overnight stay on December 6, welcoming up to two guests. Those interested can request to book from November 11 at 7am PT through November 20 at 7am PT. The overnight stay allows guests to fully immerse themselves in the retreat, surrounded by nature and elements inspired by Elphaba’s world, including creative activities, forest-themed treats, and rituals inspired by the character.
