First Official Look at Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom Has Been Revealed
Disney has given fans an early look at Avengers: Doomsday with a new promo featuring Doctor Doom, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and other major Marvel characters.
While the movie is still more than a year away, Disney and Marvel Studios are already starting to tease audiences ahead of the official marketing campaign.
The preview came in the form of a 3-D light show revealed at the Walt Disney Studios Marketing Expo in Shanghai, China. The light show focused heavily on Doctor Doom, but other characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe also appeared.

A video of the light show was shared on X by @AvengersUpdated. It is not yet clear when the light show will be available to the public or where it might debut, as this presentation was only a demonstration for the marketing event.
Fans could also check out Doom’s suit in a bit more detail, and as you can see, it’s comic-accurate. (If that is the suit we will see in the movie.)

The clip gives fans a first look at some of the major players in Avengers: Doomsday and builds excitement for the upcoming film. As of now, no further details have been released about how or when the full light show will be presented to audiences.
Avengers: Doomsday is the fifth installment in the Avengers series, as well as the 39th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely, the movie features a large ensemble cast including Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., and many others.
The story brings together the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and X-Men to face Doctor Doom. Filming began in April in England and Bahrain, and the film is set for release in the U.S. on December 18, 2026, with its sequel, Secret Wars, scheduled for December 17, 2027.
