The first trailer for Sam Raimi’s new survival horror film Send Help has finally been released, giving audiences a glimpse at the tense and dark story to come.

The film, written by Mark Swift and Damian Shannon, stars Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien as two co-workers trapped on a deserted island after surviving a plane crash.

Send Help is set to hit theaters in the United States on January 30, 2026, distributed by 20th Century Studios.

According to the official synopsis from 20th Century Studios, “Linda Liddle (Rachel McAdams) and Bradley Preston (Dylan O’Brien) are two colleagues who find themselves stranded on a deserted island after they are the only survivors of a plane crash. They must overcome past grievances and work together to survive, but ultimately, it is an unsettling and darkly humorous battle of wills and wits to make it out alive.”

The movie also features Dennis Haysbert, Chris Pang, Edyll Ismail, Xavier Samuel, Thaneth Warakulnukroh, and Emma Raimi in supporting roles.

Production on Send Help has been in the works for several years. Back in 2019, Columbia Pictures announced that Raimi would direct a new horror film written by Swift and Shannon. The project was later picked up by 20th Century Studios and officially titled Send Help. Casting began in 2024, with Rachel McAdams joining the project first, followed by Dylan O’Brien, Dennis Haysbert, and other cast members earlier this year.

Filming started in February and took place in multiple locations, including Sydney, Los Angeles, and Thailand. Production wrapped on April 17.

The newly released trailer sets the tone for what looks to be a mix of psychological tension and survival horror, showing glimpses of McAdams and O’Brien’s characters as they face both nature and each other in a desperate fight to stay alive.

Send Help marks a return to pure horror for Sam Raimi, whose previous work includes Evil Dead and Drag Me to Hell.
