The first full trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is finally here, and it’s just as creepy as fans hoped. The sequel brings back more killer animatronics, more danger, and way more chaos. This time, the monsters aren’t just inside one haunted pizzeria.

The trailer starts with a group of people exploring an old Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza building. McKenna Grace leads the group, and it doesn’t take long before things start to go wrong. These animatronics aren’t playing games, they’re on the hunt again. From the looks of it, no one is safe.

We also catch up with familiar faces like Abby, Mike, and Vanessa. Freddy himself even shows up to ask Abby for help, and just like that, they’re pulled back into the nightmare. Now it seems the killer animatronics are loose in the outside world, not just inside the restaurant. That spells big trouble. And yes, it probably has something to do with William Afton again.

Josh Hutcherson, who plays Mike, recently talked about the sequel in an interview. He said, “It’s much bigger, the stakes are higher. There’s more animatronics being brought in, different animatronics being brought in, and the world just opens up in a big way. I think the fans are gonna flip for it. It’s gonna be a lot of fun with the source. It’s gonna be scarier, too, actually.”

The movie is directed by Emma Tammi and written by Scott Cawthon, the creator of the original video game series. It’s the follow-up to 2023’s Five Nights at Freddy’s movie. Cawthon had already hinted back in 2018 that a second film could happen if the first one did well, and clearly, it did.

Filming started in November 2024 and wrapped up in February 2025. Blumhouse Productions is behind the film again, with animatronic work once more done by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. The returning cast includes Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, and Matthew Lillard.

New cast members like Skeet Ulrich, Wayne Knight, Mckenna Grace, and Teo Briones have joined the sequel, but their roles haven’t been revealed yet.

The trailer dropped a little earlier than expected, ahead of San Diego Comic-Con 2025, so fans might be getting even more sneak peeks as the event goes on.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is set to hit theaters on December 5, 2025, with Universal Pictures handling the release. If the trailer is any sign, things are about to get much scarier in the Freddy’s universe.
