Florence Pugh’s Peach-Ruffle ‘Good Morning America’ Look Arrives Just Ahead of ‘East of Eden’

A big press run usually tells you a show is about to land, and Florence Pugh has been very visible this week. She sat down with Jimmy Fallon on Monday, she is booked for ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ on Wednesday, and her outfits have been making headlines all the way through. Florence Pugh’s NYC ‘Good Morning America’ look is the latest stop on that tour.

The reason is Netflix’s ‘East of Eden‘, Zoe Kazan’s limited-series adaptation of John Steinbeck’s 1952 novel. Pugh plays Cathy Ames, the scheming antihero at the center of the story, and she is also an executive producer. All 7 episodes drop on October 1.

On September 29, Page Six shared photos of Pugh stepping out in New York City on her way to ‘Good Morning America’. She wore a peach ruffled blouse with sheer, gathered sleeves, paired with wide-leg white trousers. She carried a small woven handbag with a white handle, wore small dark sunglasses, and waved at the cameras with her wavy blonde hair blowing around her shoulders.

The morning show put her at the center of its Tuesday lineup. During her appearance, Pugh discussed what it took to step into one of the novel’s most complicated characters. She also answered a lighter question about her dream dinner party guests.

The ruffled outfit was a softer choice for a character who is anything but soft. Cathy Ames is the cunning antihero of Steinbeck’s story, and the trailer shows her covered in blood.

The peach blouse is part of a pattern of statement looks. On Monday, Pugh appeared on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ in a black off-the-shoulder mini dress with a draped neckline, strappy platform heels and a delicate choker. She also stepped out in NYC in a cream lace micro minidress from Chloé’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection.

Earlier in the run, she attended the ‘East of Eden’ panel at The Atlantic Festival in New York on September 18. She wore a dark gray Shushu/Tong dress with a broad white collar and Vivienne Westwood platforms. At the London photocall, she wore archival Rodarte with ivory pleating.

‘East of Eden’ is a big swing for Netflix. The series spans decades in the lives of Cathy and the Trask family, and it is bookended by the American Civil War and World War I. Pugh leads a cast that includes Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist, Hoon Lee, Joseph Zada, Joe Anders, Tracy Letts, Ciarán Hinds and Martha Plimpton.

It was filmed in New Zealand, with Garth Davis and Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre splitting directing duties. Kazan’s own family history with the story runs deep, as her grandfather Elia Kazan directed the classic 1955 film. Kazan told Tudum that Pugh’s “awareness of the camera is unparalleled.”

Awards watchers are already paying attention. Gold Derby says the series could become a contender for the Golden Globes and the SAG Awards that begin the 2027 TV awards cycle. That would make this press run an early step in a longer campaign.

Pugh has more coming after ‘East of Eden’. ‘Dune: Part Three’ is set to reach theaters on December 18, and she returns as Princess Irulan under director Denis Villeneuve.

For now, the focus is on Steinbeck’s antihero and the wardrobe that comes with the tour. If the peach-and-white outfit is any sign, there are plenty more looks to come before the series lands on Thursday.
