Frankie Muniz Ditches His Family in a New Trailer For ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ Revival
Hulu has released a new trailer for Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, bringing Frankie Muniz back as Malcolm after more than a decade. In the teaser, Malcolm reveals that he’s been keeping his distance from his family for years and claims that life has been much smoother since stepping away from the chaos of his childhood home.
The trailer shows Malcolm being pulled back into the family fold for his parents’ 40th anniversary, prompted by his teenage daughter Leah, played by Keeley Karsten, and his girlfriend Tristan, portrayed by Kiana Madeira. It promises the same mix of humor and family drama that made the original series a hit.
Many original cast members are returning, including Bryan Cranston as Hal, Jane Kaczmarek as Lois, Christopher Kennedy Masterson as Francis, Justin Berfield as Reese, and Emy Coligado as Piama. Caleb Ellsworth-Clark has stepped in as Dewey, replacing Erik Per Sullivan, while Vaughan Murrae joins the cast as Malcolm’s youngest sibling, Kelly.

The revival is being written and executive produced by Linwood Boomer, the creator of the original series. Executive producers also include Bryan Cranston, Tracy Katsky Boomer, Gail Berman, and New Regency’s Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan, and Natalie Lehmann.
All four episodes of Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair will be available for streaming on Hulu and Hulu with Disney+ starting April 10. Fans can also revisit all 151 episodes of the original series, which are currently streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.
The trailer suggests that the revival will blend nostalgia with new family dynamics, giving both longtime fans and new viewers a chance to see Malcolm navigate life as an adult. It looks like the humor, heart, and chaos of the original series are still very much alive.
It’s exciting to see the cast come back together and explore Malcolm’s life as an adult. The trailer promises laughs and family moments while staying true to the spirit of the original show.
