Fresh Reports Uncover Major Clues About the MCU’s Future After Secret Wars, Next Saga Described as Very Dark

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has had its ups and downs lately. While Deadpool & Wolverine brought back some buzz and performed well at the box office, there are still a lot of loose ends and storylines that haven’t gone anywhere in years.

For a while now, fans have noticed that the MCU has gotten messy, with too many disconnected stories and characters left hanging.

Because of this, many people think Marvel is planning a reboot. The upcoming Secret Wars movie might be the perfect place to make that happen. This isn’t just fan talk either; there are now several sources hinting that big changes are coming.

MCU’s Long-Delayed Vampire Reboot Still Alive, Could Finally Arrive in 2028

In the book The Reign of Marvel Studios, author Joanna Robinson shared something interesting about Marvel boss Kevin Feige’s plan. She wrote that Feige sees Secret Wars as a way to clean things up.

He wants to remove what isn’t working and keep what still feels right. She said, “We have a quote from Kevin Feige sort of implying… that like Secret Wars will serve as a soft reboot in which they can prune everything. That’s not to use a Loki-ism. Prune everything that’s not working and just keep what is [working], or bring back people you thought were gone forever.”

This idea of a soft reboot means that Marvel wouldn’t start everything over from scratch. Instead, they’d keep some characters and storylines and let go of others. That way, fans could still follow characters they love while the studio fixes parts of the MCU that have gone off track.

Some reports claim that teams like the Fantastic Four and Young Avengers will survive this reset. At the same time, Marvel may finally introduce the X-Men in a bigger way after Secret Wars. Feige himself once said that the era of mutants in the MCU is just beginning, so all signs point to mutants playing a key role in the next saga.

There are also hints that Marvel will shift more into the magical and supernatural side of things. Projects like Agatha All Along and Ironheart have started to lay the groundwork for that. And insider Alex Perez added more fuel to that theory in a recent Q&A session. When asked what the magic side of the MCU might look like in the next saga, he replied, “Very dark, very demonic and something out of a Guillermo Del Toro fever dream.”

Marvel does still has a Blade movie coming, and fans keep hearing about a Midnight Sons project, which would feature more mystical and darker heroes. There’s also the fact that Marvel paused work on a Strange Academy TV show, but that doesn’t mean it’s canceled, it might return later.

So while nothing has been confirmed by Marvel yet, all these signs suggest that big changes are coming. The next saga may be focused on magic and mutants, giving the MCU a fresh direction after years of building up the multiverse.

In my view, a soft reboot is exactly what the MCU needs right now. Too many stories have been left hanging, and a fresh start with clear direction could bring the universe back to form. What do you think? Are you ready for Marvel to hit reset? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
