From Ed Gein to Lizzie Borden: Netflix Gives First Look at New ‘Monster’ Season

Netflix has started filming the fourth season of its hit anthology series Monster in Los Angeles, the streaming service confirmed.

This new chapter is titled Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story and will focus on one of America’s most infamous historical figures.

Lizzie Borden became a household name after she was accused of murdering her father and stepmother with an axe in 1892.

She went to trial but was ultimately acquitted, leaving many questions about the case unanswered. Over the years, the story has fascinated people because of its shocking details and the mystery surrounding her involvement.

Netflix shared a first look image from the set featuring Charlie Hunnam and Ella Beatty. The caption read, “You’ve met Ed Gein, now meet Lizzie Borden. Ella Beatty will play one of history’s most notorious women in the fourth installment of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s MONSTER. Now in production in Los Angeles. Also starring Charlie Hunnam, Vicky Krieps, Rebecca Hall, Billie Lourd and Jessica Barden.”

According to Netflix sources, the production team is working to show both the tension and drama of the real-life events. The new season promises to mix suspense with historical storytelling while staying true to the shocking nature of the crimes.

With Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan leading the project, and a strong cast including Ella Beatty and Charlie Hunnam, fans can expect an intense, dramatic take on the life and story of Lizzie Borden.
