‘FROM’ Is Heading to Netflix US for the First Time, Just in Time for Horror Season
Some of the best horror hits are the ones that build slowly, spreading by word of mouth until the audience is big enough to demand more. ‘FROM‘, the MGM+ sci-fi horror series about a nightmarish town that traps everyone who enters, has done exactly that. Now it is about to reach its biggest potential audience yet.
According to What’s on Netflix, ‘FROM’ will begin streaming on Netflix in the United States on Monday, October 19, as part of a limited-time licensing window. The outlet expects the first 4 seasons to land that day, giving new viewers time to catch up before the final chapter. It is the first time the show has been available on the streamer in the US.
The timing is no accident. Dropping a back catalog on a major platform a few months before the end of the story is a well-worn way to grow an audience, and Amazon MGM Studios has sent other titles to Netflix in recent years. For a series that has always thrived on fan theories and discussion, a fresh wave of viewers could make the final season feel even bigger.
The premise is simple and chilling. A town in middle America traps everyone who enters, and its unwilling residents try to maintain a sense of normalcy while searching for a way out. When the sun goes down, terrifying creatures emerge from the surrounding forest, which turns every night into a fight for survival.
Harold Perrineau stars as Boyd Stevens, the de facto sheriff who holds the community together. Catalina Sandino Moreno plays Tabitha, and the cast includes Eion Bailey, David Alpay, Elizabeth Saunders, Hannah Cheramy, Ricky He and Chloe Van Landschoot, among others. Doug E. Hughes plays the enigmatic Man in Yellow, one of the show’s most unsettling figures.
‘FROM’ was created by John Griffin and is executive produced by Griffin alongside showrunner Jeff Pinkner, whose credits include ‘Lost’, ‘Alias’ and ‘Fringe’, and director Jack Bender of ‘Lost’ and ‘Game of Thrones’. It premiered on Epix in February 2022 before moving to MGM+, where the second season arrived in April 2023 and the third in September 2024. The fourth ran from April 19 to June 28, 2026.
Each season has 10 episodes, and the show has become the most-watched series in the history of MGM+. That milestone was highlighted when the network renewed it on April 15 for a fifth and final season. Fans, who call themselves the FROMily, have followed every twist for years.

The fourth season finale, titled ‘If a Tree Falls in the Forest…’, set the stage for the end. Tabitha and Jade crawl beneath the town to remove the children’s bones they believe are keeping everyone trapped, while the community gathers above ground around the bottle tree. An eclipse plunges the town into darkness, the creatures attack, and a sabotaged ladder leaves the two stranded in a collapsing chamber.
Boyd then mounts a rescue with Fatima and Ellis, even as the creatures close in. Reviewers described it as less an ending than a setup for the final season, with the town left more vulnerable and several favorite characters lost. Anyone who wants to watch the finale on Netflix will need to get through the earlier seasons first, which is likely the point.
Season 5 began production on July 6 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and is scheduled to wrap in late November. MGM+ has confirmed it will premiere in 2027, though there is no exact date yet. The creators said in a joint statement that they were wildly excited to have begun work on it, and promised the story will reach its intended conclusion.
Because the finale picks up right after the cliffhanger, the Netflix window offers a convenient on-ramp. New viewers can binge 4 seasons of dread, mystery and heartbreak, then join the fandom just as the answers start to arrive.

The move is also a snapshot of how the industry works now. Premium cable and streaming brands increasingly license older seasons to rivals, not to give up on a show but to widen its funnel. If it works for ‘FROM’, expect more final-season campaigns that begin on someone else’s platform.
For horror fans, the timing is almost perfect. A week before Halloween, a binge-worthy series that mixes supernatural terror with human drama will have plenty of takers, and Netflix’s audience is large enough to turn a cult favorite into a mainstream conversation.
