The Season 4 finale of MGM+’s horror series From completely changes the situation in the mysterious town. While many fans expected the final episode to reveal major answers, the ending instead creates even bigger problems for the characters. The finale does not work as a traditional conclusion. Instead, it acts as a bridge toward the upcoming final season, leaving the survivors facing new dangers, heartbreaking losses, and unanswered questions.

The episode brings several storylines together, but things quickly become worse for almost everyone trapped in Fromville. The characters make dangerous choices to survive, but every victory comes with a painful cost.

The episode begins with Jade and Tabitha trapped underground in the area filled with bones. They are surrounded by danger, with only a small amount of protection keeping the creatures away. Their goal is to recover the bones and escape, but the plan is far more complicated than they expected.

The two know they cannot stay hidden forever. They decide to take the risk and move the bones while using the Bottle Tree as part of their escape plan. However, things immediately start going wrong. After the tree is moved, the creatures become active, and their chance of getting away becomes smaller.

The situation becomes even worse when their escape route fails. The rope ladder they planned to use has been damaged, leaving them trapped below ground. At the same time, the weather suddenly changes, with the sky becoming dark even though it should still be daytime. This signals that something much bigger is happening across the town.

As the earthquake begins shaking Fromville, Jade and Tabitha are forced deeper into the tunnels. They try to survive while the entire town starts falling into chaos above them.

One of the biggest moments of the finale is the death of Mari. Many viewers expected Fatima to be responsible because of her strange transformation, but the episode takes a different direction. Instead, Smiley returns and becomes the one who kills her.

The earthquake creates an opening that allows Smiley to enter the clinic. Fatima sees what is happening from his perspective, creating a terrifying moment where she realizes the danger coming toward her. When Smiley appears in his creature form, Fatima reacts in a shocking way.

She screams back at him, almost like one of the creatures. This suggests that her transformation is continuing and that she may be becoming something similar to the monsters hunting the town.

Smiley kills Mari but leaves Fatima alive, even calling her “Mother.” Later, Kristi finds Mari and says goodbye as she dies. The moment becomes one of the most emotional parts of the finale, showing that survival in Fromville always comes with a price.

Another major loss comes when Elgin faces Sophia, one of the mysterious forces connected to the town. She tries to convince him to help her, offering him the possibility of returning home if he cooperates.

However, Elgin refuses to make a deal. Elgin chooses to stay loyal instead of accepting the offer. He would rather die than help the enemy, and Sophia kills him when he refuses.

Sophia then reveals another part of her plan. She explains to Clara that the dark sky is a sign that the end is coming. While everyone is distracted by the disasters happening around them, Sophia moves through the town and takes the talismans.

By the end of the episode, the people of Fromville lose their biggest protection. The creatures can now attack without the same barriers that kept them away before.

Meanwhile, Victor’s story takes another unexpected turn. Throughout the season, there were hints that Henry might be the person who kills him. The finale builds tension around this possibility, but things do not happen the way viewers expect.

Henry begins questioning the reality of the town and remembers more about his past. He believes that accepting the truth about Fromville might help him escape its control. He finds the gun that Victor had hidden and prepares to confront him.

When Victor returns, Henry points the weapon at him. However, Ethan arrives at the exact moment things could go wrong. The distraction gives Victor enough time to take control of the situation, and both characters survive.

Even though they avoid tragedy, their relationship is clearly damaged. Henry and Victor still have many unresolved issues that will likely become important later.

The biggest change comes when Fatima finally reveals what is happening to her. When Boyd, Ellis, and Fatima go into the tunnels to rescue Jade and Tabitha, they discover that Fatima is no longer the same person.

The group finds Jade and Tabitha trapped underground and tries to bring them back safely. But the creatures are closing in, and someone needs to stay behind to slow them down.

Fatima makes the decision herself. She stays behind and begins transforming into one of the creatures. She screams at the monsters approaching her, showing that she has crossed a line between human and creature.

The finale ends with another mysterious conversation between Sophia and the Boy in White. Their meeting suggests that they are part of a much larger conflict happening behind the scenes.

Sophia carries the stolen talismans as she walks through the forest. The Boy in White tells her that the others have the bones, which suggests the survivors may have achieved something important. However, Sophia points out that the Bottle Tree is gone, which changes the situation.

The Boy in White tells her, “You’re gonna lose this time.” Sophia responds, “I guess we’ll see,” before placing the talismans into the Farway Tree.

This final scene creates even more questions about the true nature of the town. It appears that the Boy in White and Sophia are fighting against each other, but viewers still do not know exactly what they represent or how much power they actually have.

Overall, From Season 4’s ending is less about solving the mystery and more about making the situation even more dangerous. The finale changes the balance of power, removes important characters, and leaves the survivors more vulnerable than ever.

The episode may not deliver every answer fans wanted, but it successfully sets up the next chapter. With the town losing its protection and several characters changing forever, Season 5 has a much bigger challenge ahead.
