‘FROM’ Season 4 Finale Runtime Reportedly Revealed — It’s the Longest Episode in Series History
Fans of ‘From’ have spent weeks counting down to the conclusion of Season 4, and that wait is almost over. The MGM+ horror series has built its reputation on slow-burning dread and a town that refuses to let anyone leave, and the upcoming finale promises to test that patience in a very literal sense. Word about the ‘From’ Season 4 finale has started circulating among the show’s devoted online community, known affectionately as the Fromily, and it has people talking before a single frame has aired.
Season 4 premiered in April and has unfolded across ten episodes, each one airing weekly on MGM+ as the residents of the nightmarish town inch closer to understanding the forces trapping them.
The penultimate episode, titled ‘The Calm Before,’ left Jade and Tabitha trapped in a tunnel with the Creatures stirring around them, and viewers have been bracing for the fallout ever since. With only the finale standing between fans and the credits rolling on this chapter of the story, anticipation across social media has reached a fever pitch.
That anticipation got a jolt this week when a runtime listing for the finale began making the rounds online. According to IMDb, the tenth and final episode of the season, titled ‘If a Tree Falls in the Forest…,’ is reportedly clocking in at one hour and thirty minutes. If that figure holds, it would make the episode the longest in ‘From’ history, surpassing every other installment across all four seasons.
The title nods to the old philosophical riddle about a tree falling in an empty forest, a fitting choice for a show that has spent years asking whether anyone is listening to the suffering inside its borders. According to its official synopsis, the episode follows Boyd’s quest to lead the residents home as it reaches a terrifying crossroads, and nothing will be the same once the credits roll.
Heightened expectations for the finale also follow a season that has already broken records for the show. The Season 4 premiere, titled ‘The Arrival,’ earned an 8.4 out of 10 rating on IMDb when it debuted in April, making it the highest-rated episode in the show’s history at that point. A ninety-minute closer would only add to a season that has consistently pushed past what longtime viewers expected from the series.

The stakes attached to this particular finale go beyond a single episode. MGM+ confirmed before Season 4 even premiered that ‘From’ would return for a fifth and final season, closing the book on the mystery that has consumed Boyd, Tabitha, Jade, and the rest of the town’s residents since the series began.
Executive producers John Griffin, Jeff Pinkner, and Jack Bender said in a joint statement that the additional season would let them answer questions, raise new ones, and deliver what they described as a cascade of tears and terror.
Not every fan welcomed that news. One follower told Harold Perrineau on X that ending the show after its highest-rated season felt like another example of Hollywood cutting a great series short. Perrineau responded directly on X, writing that the creative team wants to bring the best version possible to the screen and that five seasons accomplish that for them.
Whatever the final runtime turns out to be, ‘From’ Season 4 wraps up on June 28 with episode ten premiering at 9 p.m. ET on MGM+, also available through the MGM+ add on for Prime Video subscribers. Given how the season has steadily escalated week after week, a longer-than-usual closer feels less like a surprise and more like the show keeping the promise it made at the start, that nothing in this town stays buried for long.
