Full Cast of ‘VisionQuest’ MCU Show Finally Announced
VisionQuest is an upcoming Marvel Studios miniseries that will continue the story of Vision in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The show is planned for release on Disney+ on October 14, and will have eight episodes. It is part of Phase Six of the MCU and is produced under the Marvel Television label.
The series is created by Terry Matalas, who also serves as showrunner and director. It follows the events of WandaVision and continues the storyline of Vision after his return in that series. In WandaVision, Vision was brought back in a new form without his full memories, and VisionQuest explores what happens as he tries to understand who he is.
Paul Bettany returns as Vision, continuing his long-running role in the MCU. His version of the character is the reactivated “White Vision,” who regained his memories but is still struggling with identity and emotion. According to production notes and interviews shared by Marvel Studios, the series will focus on Vision trying to reconnect with his past and understand what it means to be alive.
The show also brings back James Spader as Ultron. Ultron is an artificial intelligence created in the MCU films who once tried to destroy humanity. In VisionQuest, he appears in both robot and human forms. According to showrunner Terry Matalas, Ultron and Vision’s relationship will be one of the central parts of the story.
The cast also includes Todd Stashwick as Paladin, a bounty hunter who is tracking Vision. Ruaridh Mollica plays Tommy Maximoff, also known as Speed, connecting the series to Wanda Maximoff’s family story. T’Nia Miller plays Jocasta, a robot character driven by revenge, while Emily Hampshire appears as E.D.I.T.H., an AI system originally introduced in the Spider-Man films. Orla Brady voices F.R.I.D.A.Y., another AI connected to Tony Stark, and James D’Arcy returns as J.A.R.V.I.S., one of Stark’s earliest AI creations.
Other characters include Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer as the workshop robots D.U.M.-E and U. Faran Tahir also returns as Raza, a character from the first Iron Man film. Additional cast members include Lauren Morais, Diane Morgan, Mary McDonnell, and Cristian Lavin in supporting roles. Reports also mention that Chris Pratt may appear, but this has not been confirmed.

The development of VisionQuest began in 2022 when Marvel Studios first started working on a Vision-centered project. The series went through several changes before Terry Matalas took over as showrunner in 2024. Filming took place in London from March to July 2025 at Pinewood Studios, as confirmed by production updates.
According to Marvel Studios, the series explores Vision’s internal struggle as he interacts with different artificial intelligences inside his mind. These include both allies and enemies, which makes his journey more complicated. The story also continues themes of identity, memory, and family, similar to earlier MCU series.
The show is part of the larger MCU timeline and continues the story after WandaVision, with connections to other Marvel projects. It is expected to play an important role in the future of the franchise, especially in Phase Six.
VisionQuest is planned as a key Marvel Disney+ release and will expand the story of Vision in a more personal and emotional direction when it premieres in October.
