Full House Stars Agree on the Show’s Worst Episode: “It takes the cake”
Full House stars Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber recently revealed which episode they believe is the worst in the show’s history. The two actresses, who played Stephanie Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler, discussed the topic on their podcast, How Rude, Tanneritos, and had no hesitation in choosing the season 1 episode “Sea Cruise.”
During their podcast discussion, Sweetin and Barber mentioned that “Sea Cruise” stood out as the worst episode of Full House. Although they considered other contenders, such as Michelle’s strange dream sequence in season 3’s Bye, Bye Birdie, they ultimately agreed that nothing was as bad as “Sea Cruise.”
Sweetin confidently stated, “I think the audience already knows the answer to the worst.“
Barber responded, “Oh, yeah. Should we start with the worst?“
The two then counted down together before saying in unison, “Sea Cruise!“
Barber emphasized her point, saying, “Easily the worst episode. I don’t think there’s been a worse episode since Sea Cruise. Like, I think Sea Cruise takes the cake for all seasons.”
Sweetin agreed, adding, “Sea Cruise takes the cake. Although, whatever that weird Michelle dream sequence was, was also creepy.”
Barber acknowledged that the dream sequence was unsettling but reiterated her stance: “Still not as bad as Sea Cruise, yeah. I keep waiting to assign, to crown, a new worst episode, but for me, it’s Sea Cruise. It’s still there.”
In this episode, Danny, Joey, and Jesse decide to take a break from parenting and go on a guys-only fishing trip. However, things don’t go as planned when they invite some women along, hoping to impress them. The episode focuses on Jesse dealing with a recent breakup, while Danny tries to fit in with his more laid-back friends. Meanwhile, the kids are left at home with a babysitter.
Many fans and cast members feel that this episode doesn’t quite capture the heartwarming and comedic tone that Full House became known for.
Despite the show’s long run and its many memorable episodes, the two actresses made it clear that “Sea Cruise” remains at the bottom of their list. Fans of Full House may have their own opinions, but Sweetin and Barber have no doubt about their choice for the worst episode in the show’s history
