George Clooney Shares the Secret Behind His Peaceful Marriage with Amal

George Clooney recently talked about what keeps his marriage to Amal Clooney happy and peaceful. In a new interview with CBS News’ Seth Doane, the actor shared that he and Amal have never had a fight, not once in all their years together.

Clooney explained that age and experience have taught him to let go of small things that don’t really matter. He said that when he was younger, he used to want to be right all the time, even about little things like choosing wall colors.

But now, his attitude is different. “If she wants to paint the wall red, I don’t care,” he said, adding that some people are surprised when he says this.

He believes that peace in a relationship comes from not turning every difference into a conflict. “You get to a point in life where you just go, ‘Why would that be a discussion or an argument?’” Clooney said.

He described his marriage as strong because he and Amal support each other fully. “We have a really amazing relationship because we’re also so supportive of each other that it’s like, I don’t care,” he added.

Clooney also admitted that he wasn’t always this calm. In his younger years, he said he probably would have made a big deal out of things that, now, seem meaningless. “I think I would have found things to, you know, stick my chest out about that I can go now, ‘It doesn’t matter, I don’t care,’” he said.

George and Amal Clooney, who married in 2014, have often been admired for their close and respectful relationship. This new insight shows how much mutual understanding and maturity can shape a lasting marriage.
