One of the highlights is Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic, The Odyssey. The film is a modern adaptation of Homer’s classic poem, starring Matt Damon as Odysseus, who struggles to return home to his wife, Penelope, after the Trojan War.
The ensemble cast also includes Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, and Jon Bernthal. Produced by Nolan and his wife Emma Thomas under Syncopy, the project began development in 2024.
Filming took place across multiple countries, including Morocco, Greece, Italy, and Iceland, with a $250 million budget. This will be Nolan’s first movie shot entirely on IMAX 70mm cameras and is set to release in U.S. theaters on July 17, 2026.
Marvel fans will also get a sneak peek at Avengers: Doomsday, the next chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film brings together the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Wakanda’s heroes to face a new threat: Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. The massive ensemble cast also features Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Paul Rudd, and many more.
Filming took place in England and Bahrain, and the film is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026. Its sequel, Secret Wars, will follow a year later.
Finally, Spielberg fans can look forward to his latest sci-fi film, starring Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, and Wyatt Russell. Written by David Koepp from a story by Spielberg himself, the film is set to release on June 12, 2026, under Universal Pictures.
These previews make the Avatar: Fire and Ash screenings not just a look at Cameron’s new world of Pandora, but also a first glimpse of several highly anticipated films across multiple genres.
