Last night, the skies above Hollywood turned into a massive battleground as a record-breaking drone show brought Godzilla and Kong to life. The display used over 3,000 drones to create the world’s tallest aerial show of fictional characters, soaring nearly 500 feet above the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, according to organizers.

The 12-minute event showed the two Titans preparing for battle, complete with special pyrodrones simulating Godzilla’s atomic breath. Godzilla, Kong, and the new Titan X were ready for their close-up as they took over Los Angeles, organizers said, noting that the show could be seen from more than three miles away.

The drones formed 3D recreations the size of three football fields, officially breaking the Guinness World Record for the tallest drone display in this category. The spectacle combined cutting-edge technology with theatrical storytelling, giving fans a taste of the MonsterVerse before the return of its hit series.

Stars from the franchise, including Kurt and Wyatt Russell, attended the event. A custom score by composer Leopold Ross added dramatic flair as the Titans loomed over the city’s historic cemetery.

The MonsterVerse is set to return to Apple TV+ with the second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters on February 27. The 10-episode season continues the story from the first finale, taking the action to Skull Island and exploring the fallout from the Hollow Earth expedition.

Returning cast members include Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, and Ren Watabe, while new additions like Amber Midthunder, Takehiro Hira, Cliff Curtis, and Dominique Tipper bring fresh energy and intrigue to the Monarch organization.

With multiple spinoffs and projects planned leading up to the March 2027 theatrical release, the MonsterVerse continues to grow. Fans can watch the new season on Apple TV+ every Friday, building toward a finale on May 1.
