TOHO Animation has officially announced a brand-new Godzilla anime series, revealed today at Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2025.

The project is being developed by studio Orange, known for Godzilla Singular Point, in partnership with Thailand-based Igloo Studio, recognized for My Daemon. Alongside the announcement, concept artwork for the series was unveiled.

Keiji Ota, TOHO’s Chief Godzilla Officer, shared some insight into the project, saying, “This work is a first for the franchise, featuring a boy who possesses the power of Godzilla, and we believe it will be able to more deeply portray both the fear and hope of the modern era.” No additional details, including the release date, cast, or full story, were provided at the event.

This new series follows in the footsteps of Godzilla Singular Point, the 2021 anime that combined classic kaiju with a fresh science fiction narrative. Singular Point was produced by Bones and Orange, and streamed on Netflix in Japan and internationally. It received critical praise, winning VFX-Japan Awards in 2022 for Excellence and Best in the Television/Distribution Program Anime CG Category, as well as the 53rd Seiun Award for Best Media. There has been ongoing speculation about a potential sequel, with writer Toh EnJoe hinting that another season “may or may not” happen, a sentiment echoed by director Atsushi Takahashi.

Fans of the franchise can expect this new anime to continue exploring Godzilla in innovative ways, this time through the lens of a young protagonist with a unique connection to the iconic monster. With Orange and Igloo Studio collaborating, the series promises a fresh visual style and storytelling approach while honoring the legacy of the Godzilla universe.
