Netflix is bringing one of YouTube’s biggest long-running shows to its platform as “Good Mythical Morning” officially makes the jump to streaming.

The popular variety series hosted by Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal will begin streaming on Netflix on September 7, according to the announcement from Mythical Entertainment. The deal will also include other Mythical shows, including “Mythical Kitchen” and “Last Meals,” both led by chef Josh Scherer.

Unlike many recent partnerships between Netflix and online creators, this deal is different because new episodes of “Good Mythical Morning” will arrive on Netflix at the same time they are released on YouTube. The weekday show will continue its regular Monday through Friday schedule on both platforms, giving fans another way to watch the series.

“Good Mythical Morning” first launched in 2012 and has grown into one of the most successful shows on YouTube. Hosted by McLaughlin and Neal, the series is known for its unusual challenges, comedy games, celebrity appearances and strange food experiments. Over the years, the duo has built a massive audience with their unpredictable style and chemistry.

The partnership will also expand Netflix’s relationship with Mythical’s other popular programs. “Mythical Kitchen” features Scherer and his team creating unusual recipes, testing food ideas and taking on different cooking challenges. Meanwhile, “Last Meals” focuses on celebrity interviews where guests talk about the final meal they would choose while sharing personal stories.

McLaughlin and Neal said in a statement that the goal has always been to make their content available to as many people as possible.

“One of the things we’ve always believed is that great entertainment should meet people wherever they are,” the pair said. “We’re excited to begin working with Netflix to bring Good Mythical Morning, Mythical Kitchen, and Last Meals to even more viewers, and we think this is just the beginning of a really fun collaboration.”

Netflix has been making a bigger push into the creator space as it looks to bring more internet personalities and digital shows to its service. The company has recently made deals with major YouTube creators, podcasts and online publishers as it looks to expand beyond traditional movies and television.

The streaming service has already worked with creators such as Ms. Rachel, Jordan and Salish Matter, and Mark Rober, though those partnerships mainly involved bringing existing content libraries or edited versions of their videos to Netflix. The Mythical deal stands out because new episodes will launch on both Netflix and YouTube at the same time.

Netflix has also explored creator-driven programming through projects like special versions of “Hot Ones” and partnerships with media companies to bring short-form content onto the platform.

For Mythical Entertainment, the move represents another major step after more than a decade of building an audience online. “Good Mythical Morning” has collected billions of views and become one of the most recognizable daily entertainment shows on the internet.

The partnership could also help the series reach viewers who may not normally watch YouTube content. Netflix has been looking for ways to strengthen its unscripted and talk show lineup, and working with an established team like McLaughlin and Neal gives the company a chance to bring a proven format to a much larger audience.

After nearly 14 years on YouTube, “Good Mythical Morning” is entering a new chapter, bringing its mix of comedy, challenges and unpredictable moments to one of the world’s biggest streaming platforms.
