Hailey Bieber’s Sister Arrested After Shocking Tampon Toss at Bar Fight
The Baldwin family is back in the legal spotlight as Alaia Baldwin Aronow, the elder sister of Hailey Bieber, faces a potential one-year jail sentence following a series of criminal charges in Georgia.
Nearly two years after her headline-grabbing arrest, prosecutors have officially moved forward with the case, filing charges of battery, simple battery, simple assault, and criminal trespass on Monday, Jan. 26.
The legal fallout stems from a chaotic February 2024 incident at Club Elan in Savannah, where Aronow allegedly became belligerent after being discovered in a locked, employee-only bathroom. According to court documents, the situation escalated into a physical confrontation when staff attempted to remove the 33-year-old model from the premises.
The specific allegations detailed in the filings paint a vivid picture of the altercation. Prosecutors accuse Aronow of intentionally causing physical harm to security guard Jacinto Hills by striking the victim in the genitals.
Furthermore, she is accused of removing a portion of hair from the scalp of another employee, Ian O’Neill, by pulling on it during the struggle. However, the most widely discussed aspect of the case remains the “tampon toss” involving bartender Haleigh Cauley.
In a previous interview detailing the night, Cauley recounted how Aronow refused to leave the private restroom. Her friends said she needed a minute and she said, “I need to change my tampon,” Cauley recalled. I told her again she had to leave and she said, “I’m changing my tampon, do you want to see it?” And flings it up and it smacks my face.
Aronow initially claimed she was acting in self-defense, telling authorities she was being “forcefully removed” from the club. While she first denied the specific details of the confrontation, police records indicate she later admitted to throwing the feminine hygiene product.
Her legal team recently expressed confidence in a positive resolution for the case, even as the formal filing of charges suggests that any prior attempts at a pre-trial diversion have concluded. Aronow is now scheduled for arraignment on April 23, where she will formally respond to the four misdemeanor counts.
Outside of her current legal battles, Aronow has primarily focused her career on fashion and health advocacy. As a high-fashion model, she has worked with major agencies like VNY Models and has appeared in the pages of Harper’s Bazaar and Grazia.
In recent years, she has also become a prominent voice for endometriosis awareness. She authored the foreword for EndoMEtriosis: A Guide for Girls and serves as a public advocate for women suffering from the chronic condition, often sharing her personal journey with her social media followers.
The eldest daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin, Aronow is also a mother to her daughter, Iris, whom she shares with her husband, Andrew Aronow. Despite her sister Hailey’s massive global fame and current focus on motherhood and her Rhode skincare brand, Alaia has largely maintained a lower profile until this legal saga began.
With the threat of a 12-month jail stay looming, the industry is watching closely to see how the case impacts her standing in the fashion world and her advocacy work. For now, she remains active on social media, focusing on family life while preparing for her upcoming court date.
Do you believe the legal system should seek jail time for this type of behavioral outburst, or is a fine and community service a more appropriate punishment? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
