Hayden Christensen Would Love To Do a Solo Project Set in Fan-Favorite Star Wars Era
Hayden Christensen is more than ready to step back into the Star Wars galaxy, and he’s got a lot of ideas about where he’d like to go next. Speaking at Fan Expo Boston, in comments reported by ScreenRant, the actor made it clear that he’s eager to play both Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader again.
He talked about wanting to explore different points in the timeline, especially the Clone Wars. For him, that era is full of untold stories that would be exciting to bring to life in live action. “I’d love to get to do some more Clone Wars-era Anakin, too. I think there are some fun stories there to tell,” Christensen said. “And if it meant I got to swing a lightsaber with Ewan [McGregor] again, that would be amazing.”
Fans have already seen the Clone Wars through the animated series, but Christensen imagines a live-action version with him, Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and maybe even Ariana Greenblatt as young Ahsoka Tano. That kind of reunion would add something new to the era and show more of Anakin’s role as a Jedi leader during the war.
He’s just as excited about the idea of exploring more of Darth Vader’s life, particularly the years between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. “I’d love to get to do some more stuff in the Darth Vader timeline… I think there’s some good, meaty stuff there to explore still,” he said. “If the powers that be decided a Vader spin-off is something they want to see, I’d be there in a heartbeat. 100%. I would love to. It would be amazing to keep exploring this character in both eras.”
A Vader-focused story could dive deeper into the Sith Lord’s secret missions, inner battles, and the ways he ruled the galaxy. Christensen also mentioned he’d be happy to play Anakin as a Force Ghost again, like in the Ahsoka season one finale. “…all of it would be good fun for me,” he added.
With so many Star Wars shows coming to Disney+, it feels like there’s plenty of room for Christensen to return. Whether it’s fighting battles as Anakin or striking fear as Vader, he’s ready to answer the call whenever Lucasfilm decides to bring him back.
