The world of the Hellaverse keeps growing, with hits like Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss drawing in lots of fans. At this year’s Animate Orlando event, the creators surprised everyone by announcing a new project.

SpindleHorse, the studio behind these shows, revealed they are working on an animated pilot for Homestuck, the famous internet story that has been loved by many for years. Even though Homestuck isn’t officially part of the Hellaverse, this news has definitely caught people’s attention.

Vivienne Medrano, the creator of the Hellaverse, shared this exciting update along with her animation team at the Florida convention. Homestuck first came out in 2009 and follows a group of teenagers facing the end of the world. The story ended in 2016, and many thought that was the final chapter.

But Medrano and her crew decided to bring it back to life with a new animated pilot. They’re still working on future seasons of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, but it will be interesting to see if Homestuck eventually lands on platforms like Amazon Prime Video. Fans can already get a glimpse of what’s coming with the pilot’s poster and trailer, which have been released for early looks.

The pilot is planned to be released this September on Vivienne Medrano’s YouTube channel, though there’s no confirmation yet if the full series will be made. The team behind the animation is made up of some talented people. Richard Horvitz, a well-known voice actor, is set to be the voice director.

Vivienne Medrano will serve as executive producer, while Skye Henwood will handle directing and writing. Other roles include Mel Shin as Storyboard Director, Ben Jones as Animation Director, and Hone as Art Director.

The voice cast includes some familiar names. Toby “Radiation” Fox will play John Egbert, Cherami Leigh is Rose Lalonde, Colleen O’Shaughnessey voices Jade Harley, Adam McArthur takes on Dave Strider, and Brandon Winckler will be Karkat Vantas. Given the success of Medrano and SpindleHorse’s recent projects, it wouldn’t be surprising if Homestuck ends up on a bigger streaming platform like Amazon Prime Video someday, but nothing official has been announced yet.

For now, fans can look forward to the pilot dropping this fall. It’s an exciting chance to see the Homestuck story brought back in a fresh, animated way. This new project shows how much the Hellaverse creators are expanding their reach, connecting with old favorites and creating new worlds for viewers to enjoy.
