HBO Max to Remove 7 DC Movies – Here’s What You’ll Lose
HBO Max is set to remove several DC movies from its streaming library, disappointing fans who enjoy these animated titles.
According to reports, starting October 31st, the platform will no longer offer Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons, The Death of Superman, Reign of the Supermen, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, Superman: Man of Tomorrow, Superman: Red Son, and Superman: Unbound.
While these movies may not be the most widely known, they are still highly regarded. Superman: Unbound and Superman and Batman: Battle of the Super Sons even hold 100% scores on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer, highlighting their quality and appeal among fans.
This isn’t the first time HBO Max has removed DC content.
This pattern of removing films and shows often happens for a variety of reasons, including licensing agreements, cost-cutting measures, or preparing content for release on other platforms or formats.
Although it’s frustrating for viewers, these removals are not unusual in the streaming industry. As content libraries are constantly updated and reshuffled, movies and shows are sometimes pulled to make room for new releases or to manage rights and expenses.
It’s disappointing to lose access to these DC animated films, especially since some of them have such high critical scores. Hopefully, they will become available elsewhere or return to streaming in the future. Do you think HBO Max should keep all of its DC content online? Share your thoughts in the comments.
