He-Man’s Live-Action Legendary Power Sword Revealed in First Look at

The live-action Masters of the Universe movie is finally moving forward, and fans got a first look at one of its most famous elements, He-Man’s Power Sword. Alongside the sword reveal, the official movie logo was also shared, showing that Amazon and Mattel are ready to give us a closer look at the project.

The Power Sword has an interesting history. In the earliest stories, it was actually broken into two halves. Skeletor wanted to put them together to get its power, while He-Man used different weapons like an axe and a shield. But everything changed when the original He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon came out.

That’s when the sword became the magical item that lets Prince Adam transform into He-Man.

For this new movie, the sword looks closer to the classic version but with a fresh, modern style. Over the years, the sword has had many new looks—fans will remember the changes from The New Adventures of He-Man, the 2002 reboot, and the Netflix series. In recent shows like MOTU Revolution and Turtles of Grayskull, the Power Sword is shown to have healing powers or the ability to clear away dark magic when He-Man uses it.

With this first look at the sword, excitement around the movie is growing. Nicholas Galitzine stars as Prince Adam, who becomes He-Man. Travis Knight directs, and Chris Butler wrote the script.

The story starts with a young Prince Adam crash-landing on Earth and losing the Power Sword, which is his only connection to his home, Eternia. Almost 20 years later, he finds the sword again and gets pulled back to Eternia to stop Skeletor’s evil plans. But first, he has to discover who he really is.

The official summary says, “10-year-old Prince Adam crashed to Earth in a spaceship and was separated from his magical Power Sword—the only link to his home on Eternia. After tracking it down almost two decades later, Prince Adam is whisked back across space to defend his home planet against the evil forces of Skeletor. But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam will first need to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man, the most powerful man in the Universe!”

Travis Knight is known for his work on Kubo and the Two Strings and Bumblebee. He is praised for blending action with real emotions, and many fans believe he’s the right person to bring Eternia to life on screen. The cast also includes Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, and Jared Leto as Skeletor.

Other characters in the movie include Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, and Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress. James Purefoy and Charlotte Riley play Prince Adam’s parents, King Randor and Queen Marlena.

There has been a lot of buzz online, especially after some leaked photos from the set appeared. Some fans worry the movie might not stay true to the original stories, but others think it doesn’t need to be too serious to work well.

After years of waiting and delays, Masters of the Universe is finally happening. The film is scheduled to come out in June 2026. The recent reveals of the Power Sword and the logo feel like just the start, especially with Comic-Con underway. More news will probably come soon, but for now, fans can celebrate that the Power Sword is back and the countdown to Eternia has begun.
