The Movie We All Wanted To See: Henry Cavill’s Superman Faces Johnson’s Black Adam in This Fan-Made Trailer

Remember ‘Black Adam’ released in 2022? If you don’t it’s perfectly fine since the movie was a commercial flop and panned by critics. Its only redeeming quality is the fact that Dwayne The Rock Johnson played the character, seemingly born to bring it to live action.

One of the things however that you will most likely remember if you watched the movie at all is the post-credit scene that promises a bright future for both Johnson’s Black Adam and Cavill’s Superman.

This future did not come to pass however as several months after the release of ‘Black Adam’ it was announced that DCEU would not continue and would instead be replaced by Gunn and Safran’s DCU. Cavill lost his role of Superman which ultimately went to David Corenswet, and we all lost the opportunity to see two of the most powerful characters in DC Comics fight.

Well, until now. Recently Screen Culture published a fan-made trailer for ‘Black Adam V Superman.’ Pitched as ‘Black Adam v Superman: Dawn of Justice II,’ the footage reuses material from Zack Snyder’s ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,’ with Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam replacing Ben Affleck’s Batman. The story continues after their initial encounter in the ‘Black Adam’ post-credits scene, focusing on Superman confronting Kahndaq’s protector.

We’re still left to wonder how that fight would play out taking into account Johnson’s “cant lose” clause in his contracts.

Even though DCEU projects were ultimately canceled, we can’t rule out that DCU won’t include Black Adam somewhere down the line. We also can’t rule out that Johnson’s and Cavill’s future storylines might continue as part of Elseworlds brand, a banner under which ‘The Batman’ franchise and spinoffs are gathered.
