Hilary Duff Hints at New Music, Promises to Slay for Her Gay Fans
After more than ten years since her last album, Hilary Duff is ready to return to music. She shared the news during Vogue World: Hollywood 2025 in Los Angeles on Sunday night, telling Variety, “We’re getting something really soon. I have been hard at work in the studio with my husband [Matthew Koma] and a few other amazingly talented people. [My fans] are going to hear something so soon, like in the blink of an eye.”
Duff’s last studio album, Breathe In. Breathe Out., came out in 2015. She said she always planned to come back to music but wanted to do it at the right time with the right support.
“I always knew I was going to return to music. I needed to feel safe and I needed to have the right people in my corner and be absolutely 100% ready. Honestly, I needed to have 10 years of life under my belt. I needed a lot to say. This album feels like the inner workings of my brain and I really am so excited to connect with people again on that level, that very forward-facing level.”
In September, Duff signed with Atlantic Records. She also revealed that she is working on a docuseries about her return to music and her personal life. The show will be directed and executive-produced by Sam Wrench, known for projects like A Nonsense Christmas With Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, and will be produced through Next of Kin Content.
Duff was seen at Vogue World chatting with Atlantic Music Group’s Elliot Grainge and his wife Sofia Richie, but she stayed tight-lipped about potential performances for her new album. “All of the things are happening. I can’t give up too much information or everyone’s gonna kill me, but I am dancing and… everything’s in motion. It’s exciting,” she said.
She also acknowledged her LGBTQ+ fans, saying with a smile, “You know it’s all for them. It’s just to impress them.”
Hilary Duff’s return to music has been a long time coming, and fans are clearly eager to see what she has been creating. This new album and docuseries promise to show a more personal and mature side of the pop star. What do you think of Hilary Duff’s comeback? Share your thoughts in the comments.
