Hollywood Legend Diane Keaton Dies at 79
Diane Keaton, the celebrated actress known for her iconic roles in Annie Hall, The Godfather, and First Wives Club, has died at the age of 79. The news was reported by People, which said Keaton passed away at her home in California. Her family has requested privacy at this time. Keaton is survived by her two children, Dexter and Duke Keaton.
Her career began on the stage in the 1960s, with one of her earliest roles in the 1968 Broadway production of Hair. Just a year later, she earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress for her performance in Woody Allen’s Play It Again, Sam.
Keaton quickly became a Hollywood star. In 1977, she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Allen’s Annie Hall. She was celebrated for her unique style, charm, and ability to bring depth to her characters.
Over her career, she also won a BAFTA, two Golden Globes, and received two Emmy nominations.
Beyond Annie Hall, Keaton’s filmography included a wide variety of roles. She was part of the legendary The Godfather trilogy, playing Kay Adams, and starred in the popular comedy First Wives Club.
She appeared in both dramas and comedies, showing her versatility and earning her a place as one of Hollywood’s most respected actresses.
