The world of Hollywood continues to reward big names, and the latest rankings of the highest-paid male actors in 2025 show just how much star power still translates to big paychecks. Leading the pack is Adam Sandler, who earned an estimated $48 million, followed closely by Tom Cruise and Mark Wahlberg.

Adam Sandler, 59, has long found a home outside traditional movie theaters. His partnership with Netflix continues to pay off, with huge guaranteed earnings regardless of box office performance. In 2025, Sandler starred in the long-awaited Happy Gilmore 2 and co-starred in Netflix’s Jay Kelly, which earned him a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the Golden Globes. Sandler’s success reflects his continued influence on streaming platforms, proving that he remains one of the biggest draws in entertainment.

Tom Cruise, 63, pulled in $46 million last year, largely from his role as Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Cruise agreed to less upfront money in exchange for a rare first-dollar gross deal, earning a share of the film’s nearly $600 million box office revenue.

After decades as one of the world’s most bankable action stars, Cruise now appears focused on awards and critical recognition, with his upcoming project Digger, directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, set to debut in 2026.

Mark Wahlberg, 54, came in third with $44 million. Wahlberg has become a go-to actor for streaming action projects, starring in Apple TV+’s The Family Plan 2 and Prime Video’s Play Dirty, commanding an estimated $25 million for the latter. He also appeared in Mel Gibson’s Flight Risk and continued earning royalties from his 1980s hit “Good Vibrations.” Wahlberg’s combination of acting and producing projects makes him one of the most consistent earners in Hollywood.

Brad Pitt, 62, earned $41 million, largely from his role in Apple’s ambitious film F1. The movie received a Best Picture nomination at the Oscars, and Pitt benefited from a traditional gross participation deal, earning a share of the $600 million-plus box office. Pitt’s continued appeal as a leading man ensures he remains in the upper echelon of Hollywood salaries.

Denzel Washington, 71, made $38 million in 2025, thanks to his collaboration with Spike Lee on Highest 2 Lowest. The film became Washington’s most lucrative project to date, and his extensive film library continues to bring in steady revenue. As Washington himself noted in an interview last year, “I don’t watch movies! I’m tired of movies,” yet his influence and market value remain undeniable.

Jack Black, 56, earned $28 million, continuing his dominance in family and animated films. After the success of the Kung Fu Panda franchise, Super Mario Bros., and A Minecraft Movie, Black’s popularity in children’s films is unmatched. In 2025, he also co-starred with Paul Rudd in a reboot of Anaconda, proving his versatility in both adult and family markets.

Jason Momoa, 46, also made $28 million as he transitions from his Aquaman role in the DC Universe to Lobo in the James Gunn-led DCU. Momoa is also tied to A Minecraft Movie, which has already announced a sequel. When he wasn’t filming, he toured with his rock band Öof Tatatá across the U.S. and the U.K., showcasing his diverse talents.

Daniel Craig, 58, earned $27 million through his work on Netflix’s Knives Out sequel. Craig continues to benefit from streaming deals and is set to appear in Greta Gerwig’s upcoming Chronicles of Narnia adaptation, which is expected to maintain his strong earning power.

John Cena, 48, pulled in $26 million after finishing his 23-year wrestling career. Cena has built a successful career in streaming comedies like Heads of State and in the DC Universe as the lead of Peacemaker season two. His endorsement deals for McDonald’s, Neutrogena, and Honda add even more to his income.

George Clooney, 64, earned $25 million in 2025, combining his Broadway work with a back-end payout from Netflix’s awards contender Jay Kelly, which also earned him a Golden Globes nomination. Clooney’s blend of stage and screen projects keeps him highly profitable.

Leonardo DiCaprio, 51, also made $25 million, thanks to his role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, which earned $210 million at the global box office. DiCaprio remains one of Hollywood’s most influential actors, with multiple future projects in development, including biopics and high-profile lead roles.

Rob Mac, 48, formerly known as Rob McElhenney, earned $23 million in 2025. He sold a minority stake in his soccer club, Wrexham AFC, and produced and starred in multiple TV projects including season 17 of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and season four of Mythic Quest. Mac’s combination of acting, producing, and business ventures shows his broad market appeal.

Chris Pratt, 46, made $22 million last year. Despite the box office setback of Mercy, Pratt starred in The Electric State and returned to The Terminal List on Prime Video. He also has upcoming projects through his production company, including a 2026 adaptation of Way of the Warrior Kid.

Tom Hardy, 48, earned $21 million. His roles in MobLand and The Agency contributed to his earnings, and he also produced Gareth Evans’ action movie Havoc for Netflix. Hardy continues to command high fees in both streaming and theatrical projects.

Jason Bateman, 57, made $19 million, largely from his role in Zootopia 2, which earned $1.8 billion worldwide. Bateman also starred in Netflix’s Black Rabbit, and his ongoing Smartless podcast continues to bring in millions annually.

The 2025 list shows a wide range of earning strategies, from traditional box office participation to streaming guarantees, back-end deals, and endorsement deals. These actors have successfully leveraged both their talent and star power to earn record paychecks while continuing to take on high-profile and varied roles.

It’s fascinating to see how many of these actors have shifted from relying solely on traditional film income to streaming and production deals. Platforms like Netflix, Apple TV+, and Prime Video are clearly changing the game, allowing stars like Sandler, Wahlberg, and Craig to earn huge sums while taking on projects they’re passionate about.

It also highlights that age and experience don’t limit earning potential in Hollywood; actors like Denzel Washington, Tom Cruise, and Brad Pitt remain at the top because of their legacy and consistent appeal.
