Netflix has released the first trailer for House of Guinness, a new historical drama from Steven Knight. The series, which will premiere on 25 September, explores the rise and struggles of the Guinness brewing family in 19th-century Ireland and New York.

The story begins after the death of Benjamin Guinness, the man who turned the Guinness brewery into a massive success. The series follows the fates of his four adult children—Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, as they navigate family tensions, business challenges, and personal ambitions.

The cast features Louis Partridge as Edward Guinness, Anthony Boyle as Arthur Guinness, Emily Fairn as Anne Guinness, and Fionn O’Shea as Benjamin Guinness. Other notable actors include David Wilmot, James Norton, Jack Gleeson, and Dervla Kirwan.

House of Guinness was first announced in March 2024 under its working title. The eight-part series is produced by Kudos for Netflix. Tom Shankland directs the first five episodes, while Mounia Akl directs the final three.

Knight and Shankland serve as executive producers, along with Karen Wilson, Elinor Day, Martin Haines, and Ivana Lowell. Filming began in Cheshire in the summer of 2024, with additional locations in Stockport and Liverpool.

With the release of the first trailer, viewers get a glimpse of the drama, family conflicts, and ambition that drive the series. From lavish settings to intense personal rivalries, it promises a deep dive into one of Ireland’s most famous dynasties.

In my opinion, House of Guinness looks like a compelling mix of history and drama. The cast is strong, and the story promises both family intrigue and business ambition. Are you excited to watch it when it premieres? Share your thoughts in the comments.
