Is ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ Coming Back for Season 3? Everything We Know So Far
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is a British mystery thriller series based on the 2019 novel by Holly Jackson. The show was adapted by Poppy Cogan and directed by Dolly Wells, with production from Moonage Pictures and ZDFneo for BBC Three.
The series first came out in 2024 and quickly gained attention after releasing on BBC iPlayer and later on Netflix worldwide. Season 2 arrived on 27 May and continued Pip Fitz-Amobi’s story, played by Emma Myers.
Right now, there is no official word on a third season. As of the Season 2 release, neither BBC nor Netflix has confirmed that A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder will continue. This information comes from entertainment reporting, including coverage by Cosmopolitan, which notes that renewals usually take time and are often announced months after a season drops.
The series has followed a clear pattern so far. Season 1 adapted the first book in Holly Jackson’s trilogy. Season 2 moves into the next part of Pip’s story, where she is no longer just solving a single school mystery but dealing with more complicated and darker cases through her podcast work. The source material does leave space for more story, since Jackson wrote three main novels about Pip along with additional related writing like Kill Joy.

If a third season does happen, it would likely continue adapting the later part of the book series. The tone is expected to get even darker, since the original story becomes more intense as Pip grows older and the cases become more dangerous. This is based on the structure of the novels and how the show has followed them so far, as explained in coverage from Cosmopolitan.
There is also no confirmed list of returning cast members for a possible Season 3. Emma Myers is expected to remain central to the story if the show continues, along with other main cast members like Zain Iqbal and Asha Banks, but nothing has been officially announced. The uncertainty is normal for a show at this stage, especially right after a new season release.
As for timing, Season 3 is also not scheduled. Looking at the gap between the first two seasons, which was about two years, some reports suggest a possible return around 2028 if the show is renewed. This is only an estimate based on past production patterns and not an official release plan.
Fans are now waiting to see if Netflix and BBC will continue Pip’s story. The books clearly leave room for more, and the series has strong viewer interest, but the final decision has not been made yet. For now, Season 2 stands as the latest chapter in Pip Fitz-Amobi’s investigations, with her future as an amateur detective still uncertain.
