‘iZombie’ and ‘Supernatural’ Actress Carrie Anne Fleming Dies at 51 – Cause of Death Revealed
Carrie Anne Fleming, the Canadian actress known for her work on iZombie and Supernatural, passed away on February 26 in Sidney, British Columbia. She was 51. Her Supernatural co-star Jim Beaver confirmed to Variety that Fleming died due to complications from breast cancer.
Fleming was born on August 16, 1974, in Digby, Nova Scotia. She grew up in British Columbia, attending Mount Douglas Senior Secondary in Victoria. She also studied drama at the Kaleidoscope Theatre and the Kidco Theatre Dance Company in Victoria, which helped her launch her acting career.
Her early work included a recurring role on the TV show Viper and a small appearance in Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore. Fleming continued taking roles in film and television until 2005, when director Dario Argento cast her in the Masters of Horror episode “Jenifer,” where she played a disfigured woman with cannibalistic tendencies. She also appeared in other horror projects, including The Tooth Fairy and Bloodsuckers.
On television, Fleming is well remembered for her recurring role on Supernatural as Karen Singer, the wife of Bobby Singer, played by Jim Beaver. She also played the mother of Candace Cameron Bure’s character in the 2015 TV film The Unauthorized Full House Story.
In her later years, Fleming had a recurring role on the CW series iZombie, playing Candy Baker for five seasons. Beyond screen acting, she performed in stage productions in British Columbia, including Noises Off, Romeo and Juliet, Steel Magnolias, and Fame.
Carrie Anne Fleming is survived by her daughter, Madalyn Rose (Max). A memorial service for the actress will be announced at a later date.
