J. Lo Sparks Debate in Viral Golden Globes Video for “Rude” Behavior
Jennifer Lopez is sparking heated debates online after a video from the Golden Globes showed her appearing rude to a well-known cameraman. The clip, shared by filmmaker Cole Walliser, captures the superstar at the event’s high-speed Glambot, a specialized camera used to create high-fashion, slow-motion shots of celebrities on the red carpet.
In the video, Walliser greets the singer warmly by saying, Hi, my dear. Lopez looks up briefly and mutters a quick Hi before immediately looking back down. When the photographer follows up by telling her, Lovely to see you again, you look amazing, she offers a quiet Nice to see you while still avoiding direct eye contact.
The interaction remained brief as Walliser asked if she had a specific pose in mind for the high-speed shot. Lopez turned and demonstrated her intended move without saying another word. After the camera finished its sweep, Walliser complimented her work, saying, Slayed it as usual. Thank you so much! Lopez then quickly waved toward other photographers and walked away.
@colewalliser The Queen JLO!! She walked the carpet so close to it closing (it might have technically been closed at that point), so I was happy she was able to quickly stop. No messing around — just wham, bam, thank you, GLAM! #jenniferlopez #colewalliser #glambotbts #LiveFromE #goldenglobes @E! News @E! Entertainment ♬ original sound – Cole Walliser
Walliser later attempted to clear the air by explaining the frantic pace of the red carpet on social media. The Queen JLO!! She walked the carpet so close to it closing (it might have technically been closed at that point), so I was happy she was able to quickly stop, he wrote. He described the moment as efficient rather than cold, noting there was no messing around — just wham, bam, thank you, GLAM!
Despite this defense, fans were quick to criticize what they perceived as a lack of warmth. One viewer commented that their favorite part was when she didn’t look at, speak to, or smile at you. Others suggested the clip reinforced her existing reputation in the industry. This doesn’t help her reputation of being rude lol, another user noted.
Lopez did eventually acknowledge the post by leaving three red heart emojis in the comment section. However, the gesture did little to silence those who felt a simple greeting would have gone a long way. A greeting with kind intentions doesn’t hurt anyone. Awful, one fan wrote.
The controversy comes at a busy time for the actress, who has been balancing several major film projects. She recently starred in the sports biopic Unstoppable and the musical drama Kiss of the Spider Woman, where she played the role of the silver screen diva Aurora alongside Diego Luna and Tonatiuh. Both films were released in late 2025.
Lopez is currently gearing up for a big year on Netflix in 2026. She is set to star in the romantic comedy Office Romance alongside Ted Lasso favorite Brett Goldstein. The film features a star-studded supporting cast, including Betty Gilpin, Amy Sedaris, and Tony Hale, and marks a reunion with her Selena co-star Edward James Olmos.
Additionally, she recently wrapped production on the psychological thriller The Last Mrs. Parrish, directed by Robert Zemeckis. Based on the bestselling novel by Liv Constantine, the film stars Lopez as socialite Daphne Parrish, whose perfect life becomes the target of a manipulative con artist played by Isabel May. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau also stars as her husband, Jackson Parrish.
Lopez has remained in the spotlight following her highly publicized divorce from Ben Affleck, which was finalized in 2025. While she has stepped away from her partnership with Affleck’s production company, Artists Equity, she continues to produce content through her own banner, Nuyorican Productions.
Do you think Jennifer Lopez’s behavior on the red carpet was just a result of the high-pressure environment, or is it time for celebrities to put more effort into being friendly to the crew? Share your thoughts in the comments.
