Jack Quaid Praises New ‘Superman’ Movie: “Can’t Think of the Last Time a Movie Gave Me So Much Hope”
As James Gunn’s new Superman movie keeps crushing it at the box office, fans and celebrities alike are sharing how much they love this fresh take on the Man of Steel. One of those voices is Jack Quaid, known for his roles in The Boys and Star Trek: Lower Decks.
Quaid, who stars in Adult Swim’s My Adventures with Superman, recently posted a heartfelt message on social media praising the film and its star, David Corenswet.
Quaid wrote, “I absolutely loved SUPERMAN! Can’t think of the last time a movie gave me so much hope. They did the big blue boy scout proud. I laughed. I cried. People in the audience cheered! A CHEER?! In 2025?! Incredible!” He went on to give Corenswet a big shoutout: “[David Corenswet], you ARE Superman. Period. You created a Supes whose humanity shines through in every frame. It’s so incredible to watch you fly.” Quaid signed off his message with a fun note: “Sincerely, Anime Superman 🫡.”

Interestingly, Quaid actually tried out for the live-action Superman role himself. In a recent interview, he shared that he sent in an audition tape but didn’t get very far in the process. “Everybody auditioned for James Gunn’s first live-action DCU film if you kind of fit the bill,” Quaid explained. “I didn’t get very far at all. I put myself on tape and it went nowhere and that’s totally fine, like that’s totally cool.”
Quaid admitted he probably wasn’t the perfect fit physically for the role, but he’s proud of the work he’s done voicing Superman in animation. “I remember getting that audition being like, ‘Yeah, sure, I’m the voice of Superman in a cartoon, but I don’t really think I fit the bill physically at all and that’s fine, that’s totally cool,” he said. He also knows Corenswet personally from a pilot they worked on years ago. “He’s one of those people you meet, ‘Oh yeah, like whenever you need another one, it’s probably gonna be you.’ That guy is Superman.”
Meanwhile, fans of My Adventures with Superman can look forward to a third season.
Production for season three is already underway. The creative team shared that by February 2024, the third season was officially approved, with voice recording starting and several episodes written. Quaid himself posted pictures from the recording studio on social media just a couple of months later, showing he’s deep into his work.
So while Quaid might not be the live-action Superman, he’s making a big impact as the animated version. And with the new movie and the ongoing animated series, Superman fans have plenty to be excited about.
